Try to find a group that offers this book as its foundation. Book is excellent.
This book can be read numerous times, along with the aging process. The authors incorporate honesty, compassion, thoughtful exercises, and while some chapters may be for later in the aging process, truly everyone should be able to find this book useful. Highest recommendation.

Wise Aging: Balanced, Thoughtful, and Comprehensive
This is the 10th book I have read on the subject of what comes next after we have finished our careers and raised our children. This is a fabulous book. Real insights about how to make the final phase of your life to be one of joy, meaning, and connection. Spiritual insights on how to change your perspective to fit this new exciting time of life. Candid advice and insights about the inevitable struggles and challenge. Well worth the time to read it.

A guided journey through adult spiritual life
I felt exhausted when I finished the book, as if I had been on a long journey with two scholars who had a great deal of wisdom to convey. It’s not just that I learned from this book, it’s that I think it will make me a better person. That’s a lot to get from a book.

I love this guide to aging!
I have read this book from cover to cover and keep re-reading what I've marked. It is a fabulous handbook for how to deal with our lives as we age. I have learned much from it and it is helping me to cope - indeed to enjoy the process of a new stage in my life rather than dreading deterioration. I have bought copies of this book for several friends and family members. I hope to set up a "wise aging" group among my neighbors so we can meet and discuss the ideas - as suggested by the authors. The book has an emphasis on some Jewish prayers and perspectives, but does not push this and considers wisdom from many religious and spiritual sources, as well as non-religious sources. Much of the advice is based on research, as well as clinical experience. The perspectives and advice in the book are also quite compatible - and complementary - with other helpful life approaches, such as those in 12-step programs.

A must for anyone who want to grow old and wise
Deep wisdom to guide our becoming an elder. So needed! Anyone can grow old if you live long enough but it takes effort and introspection to harvest the lessons of a lifetime and become a wise older member of society, which used to be a respected role - a sage.. This book will lay out that path.I've read several books on this subject and this is by far the best. It's written from a Jewish perspective but relevant and accessible to everyone, all backgrounds and not in the least a heavy religious book. No proselytizing about the "best way". Practical, applicable, easy and even fun to read and should be read by anyone who is seeking a template to enter older age and grow wise from the experience of living.

This book is a treasure
With wisdom and clarity, Rabbi Rachel Cown and Dr. Linda Thall will help you explore the challenges of aging and the joy of the exploration. Not only are there moving stories to read and questions to ponder, but if you are reading this with a group, there are exercises which enable closer connections with your fellow travelers, which itself is a pathway to peace, acceptance, and gratitude. It is never too late to learn, and perhaps this stage of life offers its sweetest opportunities. Grab the book, sit down with a cup of tea, and begin!

How to cultivate wisdom as you age, Jewishly!
This book offers an extraordinary and uncommon lens with which to view aging. It offers a Jewish/spiritual lens for a conversation on every aspect of growing older wisely. I am a trained teacher of this material, and the book is very rich with content, opportunities for learning and personal reflection, journalling exercises, and Jewish content. I highly recommend this book. I know the authors and they have brought their hearts and their souls to this special book and to this conversation.

best book I've read on aging (and I've read quite a lot!)
This is a wonderful book! It touches on all aspects of aging with the text providing both positive and negative aspects of each. It offers spiritual practices for each chapter as well as good reflection questions. Overall it is upbeat and a great resource for exploring what aging might mean for each person.

In a word …brilliant!
Now at 68 years I’ve been reading various books on aging ‘gracefully’ ; many of which are pithy or just plain dull. The words in this book jump off the page at times. Incredibly insightful and relevant. It’s the best book I’ve read in a while and has prompted me to do something I never do; put it nearby to be read again soon !There are some passages that will make you set the book down and ponder, deeply what you just read. Wonderful!
