I got this book way back in 2005 at the time I was not sure what to do with hair. But after reading this book thoroughly, I made my mind up and started the process. 4 years on, my hair is shoulder length long in locks, beatiful locks.

Completely satisfied and will use again for more products. Product was as described and in very good condition. Highly recommended.

Very factual, culturally sensitive & specific. Will use this as a constant reference. Anyone can use this book if they wish to naturally lock their hair or if they have a curiosity about locked hair.

It is a good book. It tells you the whole process on how to lock hair. However you will not find step by step instructions on how to lock the hair. For that you are better off looking on youtube for that. It will tell you though how to look after it and the relationship you will have with your hair and the changes you will encounter.It is more of a biography of a woman in the US wanting to go natural and her experiences and that of her son going natural.It inspired me to stay natural and I tried dreads but sadly my scalp needs shampooing and is very sensitive to all the lotions and potions required to lock the hair and to keep it locked. So I am back to a short afro style.

I purchased Nice Dreads for my wife because she has been talking about going natural for a long time but didn't know how to begin the process. The feedback from my wife was very positive and she has raved on ever since about how inspirational the book is and has now decided to go for the change. After reading it myself I would recommend this book to anyone considering locking their hair.
