These things are heavy!!
There are a lot brands and products to choose from but, what I like about this set is that they are made of cast iron. It reminds of the cast iron skillets my mom use and nurtured to get the best cooking results. So I choose these just based on the longevity and quality of cast iron. That said, I have not use them yet, so I can't give an update on functionality. However, I have worked in a restaurant, and grill presses gives protein that char look you see in magazines that make your mouth drool!!! I have since bought a set for myself and another for my grilling buddy. Plus, they are priced just right too!!!!

Heavy and fairly large
These things are heavy and large, I use them mostly for meat and bacon in my cast iron pan. Due to the little grooves I prefer to wrap tinfoil on them so I don't have to clean them, picked up that tip from my local bagel shop.

Exactly what I needed.
Great for bacon, burgers, or even hotdogs cause you can roll them around if put in a row perpendicular to the handle. I love a good English muffin grilled in butter and the weight gives it a nice crust.

Hefty. Apply a little TLC
Great size for flatop, using 2 at a time. Heavy enough to dod thw job well. With care should last a lifetime. The only thing that will need extra care is the wooden handles. Over time (several years) I expect the handle would dry out and crack or split. Mine is still new so I took off the handle off and soaked in mineral oil overnight. Since handles were off I seasoned the cast iron twice. Applied oil, set oven to 450 for 30 minutes. I let them cool for 3 hours then repeated the process. In my experience a little effort now will pay off in the future. I absolutely hate rust and I live near the gulf coast. If I didn't do this now I would end up tossing them when the rust started. Did I mention I hate rust?
