Great product
Some squirrels had climbed into the engine bay of my car and eaten some wiring insulation and conduit from some wires and harnesses. I used the Permatex silicone tape to insulate the exposed wires and rebind the harnesses. Worked like a charm! Applies neatly and reasonably easily. The tape only sticks to itself so generous overlap is key. Also, you have to stretch the tape to get maximum stick - the more the better. It's heat resistant and impervious to fuel so it should do fine in an engine bay. There's no adhesive so one day if i need to remove the tape there won't be any residue. Beats paying the ransom for new wiring!

Makes a great seal in the engine bay.
I use this to seal up hoses with tiny cracks or wire sheathing that's worn out in the engine bay when it's not enough to replace the entire wire/hose but enough to want to do something about. It works great, it seals great, and it's strong. Just make sure you pull it VERY tightly when wrapping it around - like, tighter than you think. This "activates" when it's stretched, so if you're just loosely wrapping it around like a piece of tape you're not going to get the full effect. Pull it tight. Like, for real, tight. Really tight. Have I emphasized "tight" enough yet?

NOT gasoline resistant
It says fuel resistant, but I used it to wrap some pump wiring in my gas tank and after a month it was translucent and falling apart. Will probably work for a short while as a patch job but not for submersion. Otherwise it seems to be working well in open air applications.

It works
Used it on my car. Temporary fix on a fuel line that had a pinhole leak to drive the car to the mechanic.

Works well at protecting wire connections on saltwater boat
Needed to protect a number of electrical connections, on boat, from saltwater, sun light and rubbing. Electrical tape did not hold up well and lasted barely a week. After a year, the Permatex connections still look great. A few tips for using: 1) easiest to apply in warmer whether, 2) needs to be stretched while wrapping and 3) keep area clean of dirt. Once tape has adhered to itself, cannot be unwrapped.

Didn't end up using
Was way smaller then I thought. Didn't try it but you really don't get much at all.

Interesante
No es una cinta convencional, no tiene ningun tipo de adhesivo pero logra una buena adesion a base de presion y fusion estirandola fuertemente
