Great Shears, especially for the price.
These shears are like professional grade, but without the professional price. The blades remain flush to eachother through the cutting range. The blades are sharp. With cheaper shears, I sometimes have to torgue my thumb agasint the ball of my hand to keep the blades flush; otherwise, very thin material gets pushed between the blades instead of being cut. With these shears, I don't have to do the torguing thing. The blades (two sides) come apart easily when moved to the right position, but do on come apart otherwise; so, cleaning and sharpending are easy.

A real "cut-up"
I have had many shears/scissors through years. As time passes they get loose and become dull. Cutting thin material becomes difficult to impossible. A friend has a pair of these shears and has used them for a few years and said they are as sharp as the day they arrived. The fact that they come apart makes them easier to clean. So based on their recommendation and the positive reviews, ai purchased them and I am equally impressed. They will cut through the thinnest material at the very tip. Highly recommended.

Sturdiest Scissors I’ve ever Owned
The title of the review says it all. These are the most solid, sturdiest, most powerful-feeling scissors I’ve ever owned. It’s actually a magic thing opening and closing them. Besides that, they’re incredibly sharp. No problem cutting through anything — from hard plastic to a chicken you’re spatchcocking. What’s more, they’re super easy to clean. If they get dirty, you can detach the two halves really easily and throw them in the dishwasher. Pull them out and slap them back together and they’re good as new. I’ve owned a couple pairs lf cheaper shears in the past that drove me crazy because I’d get them dirty and they’d stay dirty forever because the halves didn’t separate and it was a struggle to clean in the cracks between them. Not a problem here.

FAKE! Not the Japan made KAI
Thought this was the high quality scissors from KAI but it isn’t. It’s a Chinese knock off using the name and selling it at a high price point.

Not what I thought
I did not open the package. Packaging says “Made in China”. This is not Kai scissors that are made in Japan.

Hard to hold and uncomfortable
They are really well made and very beefy but very hard to hold and hurt your fingers after a while

As other reviews tell you these are sharp and strong scissors but they placed the herb function (gap) poorly. If you cut with the full length of the scissor blade it will be a difficult and uneven cut as the herb function (gap) makes the cut not straight. The solution is to only make a cut with 2/3 of the blade length (where you see the serrated blades, something I find annoying. If this would be a problem for you get the Kai Select 100 instead. They are also very heavy scissors, so if you are a small person and will use them a lot please factor this in as well.
