I sit next to a cool window all day while working at my desk. These are the curtains I chose for that window. Even though they are not "thermal" or even lined, they still block the coolness very well. The fabric is a linen-like weave, that has a nubbiness to it. Exactly what I was looking for, and so difficult to find! The embroidery is very attractive at a close view. The thread is slightly shiny. I wish these curtains also came with green embroidery, and I also wish they came with a rod pocket option, but the grommets are acceptable. I purchased blue, and I love them!

The curtains are just what I wanted to bring a light and airy feeling to the room. Simple and gives it that country home feeling.

Do not buy these if your goal is total darkness. That is not what these ones are for. That being said, I really like these. I have blinds but even closed the rising sun reflects on them at an angle that gave me an unwanted wake up call & soon as I opened my eyes. Plus I have white trim. Even though they are see through, they took care of the problem. I bought the red ones & they go nicely with the color of my walls.

The background cream color that appears to be depicted in the photos here, is nothing like reality. They are way too sheer and don’t have that solid creamy white background that I thought I was getting. Will probably return, unfortunately. I wasn’t expecting blackout curtains by any means, but I also wasn’t expecting to get sheers.
