Seaview Cottages Cozy Mystery Series Box Set: Books 1-3 Kindle Edition

Loved all the twists and turns along the way to solving the mystery. Will continue the series as soon as new books released.

This was a new series for me from an author I already enjoy. Anna Celeste Burke writes solid mysteries with lots of searching, some humor, and a bit of romance. The cast of main characters in this series live in an active senior community and their cottages have literary names. The lead character, Miriam Webster, lives in Hemingway cottage and so forth. The first story introduces the characters as they endeavor to solve the mystery of who did it when they find a dead body behind Fitzgerald's Bluff. By the end of this story they have a new calling as sleuths. The second story has them tracking down Shakespeare's ghost, and in the third one they solve a cold case. The author uses literary references and quotations that are fun through out the stories. Each character is unique and helps move the mysteries along. Miriam is a bookkeeper and baker and has a good analytical mind. Each one adds to the ability of the group to solve mysteries. My reason for giving four stars instead of five was because I kept having to reread in spots because I got lost in the dialogue. The stories would flow better if the author would go back a add who is speaking in many more places. Dialogue changes the point of view. I would find myself asking - who said that - because it mattered and needing to go back to figure if out. A few times it was more that it became too wordy. I am an avid reader and found this frustrating. However, I really liked the stories and thoroughly enjoy the author so I will be reading more.

This series has an awesome cast of Grand Old Lady Detectives (GOLD). These ladies are very sharp and have a wide variety of skills. I love them all. They captured my attention on the first page and kept it until the end.In A Body on Fitzgerald's Bluff a body is discovered and then vanishes before police can be called.The Murder of Shakespeare's Ghost is a fast paced, witty, well written mystery.In Grave Expectations on Dickens' Dune a death bed confession that a body was buried on Dicken's Dune some forty years in the past has Miriam, the Grand Old Lady Detectives, & Charly’s Angels once again embroiled in an investigation.There are always many suspects, and several possible motives. Everything is brought to a satisfactory conclusion. You do not want to miss this fascinating series of mysteries.

Book 1Retirement village with a new resident Miriam and her dog, of which finds a body. The women G.O.L.D are sharp, and determined to solve. For deputy Devers they are a thorn to him. A good beginning with these senior helping solve the crimes, Good plot, and one has to chuckle with the antics of these seniors, enjoyable to read.Book 2Robyn calls saying she is locked in the bedroom and Shakespeare ghost was in the hallway. The G O L D ladies are on it, to find a dead ghost. To make matters worse they have to call in the detective because of it.The characters are good. They is a lot of twist, and humor along the way, and enjoyable to read.Delightful series, enjoy all of her books

From book 1 to book 3, totally captivated by these books. Loved the premise of elderly detectives actually being able to use their life-long skills to solve crimes. All the characters are well-drawn, lovable ---- or not! And makes me want to move into one of their cottages; and I would not have to lie about my age, either! I was so happy to see recipes at the end of the books, although some of the dishes Miriam had brought to share with her fellow detectives, sounded so darn good I actually looked up some recipes on line! Again, great reads, great stories, great characters, and do read them, you will not be disappointed! Aloha

When Miriam moves in with her dog she finds a body and that's just the beginning of her troubles. Overall, the story is funny with great well-crafted characters and was hard to put down.Really enjoyed reading all three books from this author. Kept me entertained and left me wanting more.

I love these old ladies and guys. They are smart and funny. I love that their cottages are named for famous authors. It is a pleasure reading each book. They are not free of errors but I've read much worse. I hope she writes more of these.

Miriam has moved into Seaview cottages, which are named after authors. There is Shakespeare cottage, Austin cottage and Hemingway cottage to name a few of them. There is murder and she starts looking in to it with the help of some of the other residents. They name themselves G.O.L.D. The Grand Old Dames. The characters are wonderful and we learn more about them over the three novels. I loved these stories.

A well written series with interesting characters and good plots. I would highly recommend these books to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries. I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series.
