A book to read, cherish and pass down to your children
A good quality hardback book with photographs and detailed insight into the lives and experiences of sikh soldiers. This isn’t just another history book, it’s a rich source of sikh heritage which deserves to be cherished and passed down the generations. So our future generations never forget the role of the sikhs during the Great War. This book is giving a voice to these unsung heroes.Written in an easy to read style with an extensive glossary to aid with understanding some of the lesser known terminology which would have been widely used by sikh soldiers.

An exceptionally well written and researched book
Having recently discovered the huge role Sikh soldiers played during World War 1, this book brought to life the stories and tales of young soldiers from that era.Truly remarkable to be able to hear the words and feel the emotions of these brave young men.The author has immersed in some serious research and objectively linked historical facts with the soldiers' accounts.Interesting book and would highly recommend.

Too little actual history
Bought on good reviews but have to be honest did not actually finish it. There were pages after pages of letters sent home from the war but so many were practically word for word as many others. There is no denying the contribution other nations such as India and their efforts and bravery but I found there was too little on the real hardships. Even when those wounded were returned to England to recover their letters home so many were again nearly word for word the same.
