Awesome tent for a solo backpacker, definitely waterproof and comfortable for sleeping.
I bought this tent 18 months ago but just had the chance to use it for the first time last weekend. I LOVE it! I hadn't been able to fully pitch it before heading out on my trip, but the instructions inside the carry bag were simple, clear, and very easy to understand. I had it pitched in no time. I was car camping at an IndyCar track, so while weight wasn't really an issue, the tent and everything needed to pitch it, even with the added ground cover, are very light and should be able to be carried by most backpackers with no trouble. My friends and I set up our tents and headed over to the racetrack. I had left the rain fly open a tiny bit for some ventilation and also left the small vent at the top propped open, because it was VERY hot. While we were at the track, it started raining very hard. I was extremely nervous and worried that my sleeping bag and small air mattress would be soaking wet when I got back. We waited about an hour for a break in the rain before heading back to our campsites. It rained hard for about 3 hours total, and I waited until it let up to check the tent, expecting the worst. To my absolute delight, the rain fly and ground cover kept the inside of the tent perfectly dry, even with the two small openings I left. The rain beaded up and ran right off. A few drops did sneak inside when I opened the rain fly to check on things, but that was my fault. I learned to hold the zipper in one hand and the end of the rain fly in the other, so I could fold it back as it opened and stop any rain drops from getting inside. I just placed a small towel inside to immediately soak up any rogue drops for the rest of the weekend.Overnight the first night, it rained twice. I stayed completely dry as I slept, only waking a few times to hear the rain hitting the tent. I had plenty of ventilation and it never got too hot inside, despite the very high temperatures during the day.As for the size of this tent--it fit me (5'5" woman, approximately 146 lbs), my mummy sleeping bag, and a small Klymit Static inflatable air mattress perfectly. There was room in the corners of the tent for my iPad Mini, a small lantern, my dirty clothes from the day, a water bottle, and my car keys, which I hung from the loop attached to the peak of the tent. There is also a small mesh pouch hanging from the peak of the tent. I was able to sit up at the peak to change clothes but it was not comfortable to sit up and read. There was enough room, however, between the head of my sleeping bag and the top of the tent for me to put my iPad or book so I could lie on my stomach and read comfortably. I would say I could have gotten my dog (21 lbs) in with me to sleep comfortably, but nothing more than that. Definitely not another person, unless it was an infant. I had to flip over rather than roll over, but that doesn't bother me so it was no big deal. Someone else may feel differently and should look for a bigger tent. It may be possible for two small children to sleep comfortably, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Because of the shape of the tent, they would have to sleep with both heads at the same end of the tent. The vestibules of this tent are not very big, but they were perfect for keeping my flip flops out of the tent, and they even stayed dry through the rainstorms. You could get a gear bag in there if it wasn't very large, but the ground cover does not extend to the vestibules so I would get a small tarp or something else to keep the bag off of the ground. With the rain fly zipped closed, I was able to secure the mesh door up with the loops and that gave me some more room to change. Getting in and out without toppling over took a few times to get used to, but by the time I went to sleep the first night I had the technique down.Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this tent. It packed up fairly easily, even though I could not get it folded back to the way it came no matter how hard I tried. The poles are strong and fit together very well. The stakes are small but adequate. They would probably not work very well in a rocky environment, but they went in and out of the ground very easily where I was. It may be worth buying some stronger tent stakes for frequent use or use in a location where hammering into the ground will be difficult. For me, a rubber mallet easily drove the stakes in the ground and they were secure for the whole weekend, even through the rain which soaked and softened the ground.

Used to Be A Great Value and Great Tent
Bought this in 2015 (1.5 person) and have been using it for light backpacking/camping ever since. Bought it for $96 on sale here on Amazon. Looks like they've increased prices substantially since they've developed a bit of a reputation for value. Does everything that I would want and more. Lots of pockets inside. Vent and window work great. Rainfly easy to install and works excellent. Can store backpacks and gear underneath the rainfly against the tent. Love this design style for tents as it saves weight/space but I can still sit up if needed. Keeps the wind and rain out quite well. Have never gotten wet. I went camping once and everyone asked me how I slept throughout the windstorm. I replied by saying I had no idea there was even a windstorm as I had earplugs in and my tent kept the wind out quite well. Slept like a baby. The only issue has been the floor has gotten a bunch of little holes over time. I eventually bought the floor saver and patched up all the holes and don't regret it one bit. BUY THE FLOORSAVER. It will save you lots of time patching up holes and buying a new tent in 5 years. It's also not the lightest or smallest tent at this price point so if you're the kind of person that goes multiday backpacking several times a year I'd probably get something a bit lighter and smaller.

Pretty good tent, but not really a backpacking tent.
This tent has earned a solid 4 out of 5 in my book. I brought this tent on a recent camping trip to Grandfather Mountain in NC. All in all, it is a good tent with a few caveats. My first issue is the weight. It is marketed as a lightweight "backpacking" tent, but having packed this up a mountain, I must say it is NOT lightweight. Medium weight is about where I would place this. My second issue with this tent is the zippers on the rain cover. The zippers are sewn in where they need to make a hard turn near the end of the action. The zippers bind at the corner EVERY TIME, making one handed entry/exit near impossible. They also snag the fabric, and the velcro closures along the way to open and closed. I personally found this very frustrating. That said, the rain cover is quite waterproof, as tested by the constant rain we had for the duration of our trip. Even in heavy downpours the inside of the tent remained dry. I would also have to speak of the water proof-ness of the floor tub. All seams held up well, and there was no puddling, or seeping, or damp spots. Condensation did collect in the tent, but it didn't drip at all. More of a light film of moisture. I can't really knock the tent for that though. The temps were cooler, and highly humid during my trip. Setup was very easy, and quick, as was teardown. Everything went back into the bag with relative ease. I would recommend this tent for normal use, but as mentioned before, this is not really a backpacking tent in my book. Definitely solid in all other matters however.

Great Tent--Held up Well to 3 Months in the Rockies of New Mexico
I've enjoyed this tent. I had a two person ultra lightweight tent that I bought from REI originally this summer to use while I worked as a backpacking guide in Northern New Mexico. I ditched that tent because although it was super lightweight, roomy, and easy to set up, it handled wind VERY poorly with such light material and structural framework. Second night out it tried to fold over on top of my friend and me and I ended up taking it down while she star-fished inside, keeping it upright. This tent is heavier, smaller, and a little more time consuming to set up, but has proven itself to me through its durability. It's not heavy enough that I mind carrying it, the price is totally fair for what you get, and if you're small like my sister and I, you can fit 2 people inside snugly.10/10 would recommend again. Only set backs for this one are non-free-standing (meaning if you can't stake into rocky ground, you're screwed) and a little heavier.

I needed a tent to withstand strong wind and rain. I don’t think this is the tent to do that
I returned it

Great buy!
Awesome! Easy to set up alone. I used this on my last solo kayak camping trip. Easy to set up, spacious for one person and very rain proof. It poured for over 12 hours straight and I stayed dry the whole time! Highly recommend. Light enough to transport on my kayak without adding necessary weight.

Great one man hiking tent for a tall person.
Bought for my 6' 2" Grandson as his feet stick out of the door of most other tents. He can stretch out full length in this and still have space. Also nice and light for hiking.
