This stropping paste, though quite expensive, is working really well. And works quickly. The stropped surfaces really do come out looking mirror-like, with minimal effort - surfaces honed to 8000-12,000 on ceramic stones prior to stropping. More importantly, the cutting edge is razor sharp - a very light touch during stropping is all that I have needed. A little goes a long way. Would buy it again.

This stuff does work very well, if it gets too dry you can add some zippo fluid and mix it up to a nice paste. But the current price of 30$ is way too high. will wait for the price to drop or find an alternative.

Product is as advertised and works good if you find a way to hold it.

I’ve ordered this product twice now, once with a Trend diamond lapping plate kit, and again just for the compound afterwards. I like the compound well enough, but both containers fell apart, and the compound dried out in both containers in record time. You can replenish dried out compound with naphtha, a solvent the manufacturer uses in formulating the product, but the replenished naphtha seems only to accelerate the deterioration of the thin plastic container. I docked this product two stars (harshly) because of the inferior packaging, which is really aggravating. My photos show the first container, then the second, taken more than a year apart, so this is not a one-time materials defect problem.

Not been able to use the polishing compound when I needed to.

I haven’t managed to get it on the strop leather yet , I need to cut a sized hardwood block, to stick the leather on , something you need to do !. In truth, it’s an expensive, very small pot of VERY Dry paste . Today I’ve been braking it up with a old small chisel, and letting it down with Mineral spirit, mixing it to a paste.I’m an old woodworker, and use a strop all the time, I HOPE ! ! ! It works ?.

I have used other brand leather strop and compounds that come in different colors for sometime.I bought this one just want to see what the difference.This paste is easy to apply, less stroke to take, bring the knife to razor sharp.I am impressed.Edit:I am still impressed with result after almost 1 year stropping my kitchen knife routinely every week. I didn't close the jar properly and it dry out. I have to mix with water. I am considering to try other metal polishing which is mainly Aluminum Oxide mix with water. I think it will have the same result but much cheaper.

Do not use super glue like me lol must be spread evenly over surface. Had to plane the back of the leather to get it off

Maybe I should have done better research. But all other compounds only need a few drops and then you can strop quite a bit before you reapply. With this one, you must apply every time you go and strop. I figured I'd buy this because there's more material in it than in the syringes like the DIA paste but now I know why. The paste you used will dry out and flake off after even a few minutes. One thing though it does work. It makes a knife really sharp.
