Inexpensive clean air to go!
!!COVID-19 SAFETY: This mask does not filter exhalation. Add filtration material before or after the exhalation port.!!It exists, real as my skull. The <$40 full face mask. What a wonder. It's pretty comfortable too. It's not going to fog up either, because the incoming (dry+filtered) air goes through the facial cavity, but the outgoing (moist exhaled air) does not, it goes directly out the front instead. If you're wearing this in public (e.g. because Covid-19), then please put something to filter your exhalation. This mask does not do that by default. It might help a little compared to just breathing on people, but all it does is direct your breath through a rubber flappy bit and then directs it downward. Again, that's helpful, but not filtration by any means. To meet the exhalation filtration need, I formed a flu mask to the inside of the breathing cavity and ensured that it would cover the hole at the front of the mask (from the inside, in my case). This should provide at least as much protection to others as they would expect if you just wore a flu mask.Notably, the exhalation port on the front of this mask has a curved cover-piece that can be removed (thus exposing the aforementioned rubber flappy-bit that acts as a one-way valve). Once removed, this reveals a mostly-flat large circular surface with about the same diameter as 3" (trade size, so more like 3.5" diameter) PVC or ABS pipe. What this means is that this mask might be one of the easier masks to modify, ex: to add a voice amplifier or an external exhalation filter box. I am exploring these opportunities, but it takes time and is a side-project kinda thing. The mask I received (ordered 2020-Aug-29) had filters dated "05/2020". (I suspect that this is really good. They aren't shipping us filters from decades ago, and that's rather a good thing if there are any consumable reagents in these filters.)One more tip: When I first wore this, it was pretty hard on the bridge of my nose, and left a red mark. My experience with CPAP tells me that I was wearing it wrong, and that you should never have deep red marks when wearing safety gear (that's fine once or twice, but not OK for daily use). I found that it helps to adjust the top (overhead) straps tighter than the lower (chin-level) straps. This makes the weight rest on my forehead (and top of my head) instead of my nose, which is very important, because this thing is way too heavy to be sitting on your nose! Also, like with CPAP gear or other breathing equipment, ONLY tighten it enough to form a seal! It is entirely possible to put these things on TOO tight and injure yourself (over time) or damage your equipment.Be safe!

Life Saver
I know now I should have this mask years ago. This works much better than a mask and goggles. No fogging and the tear off shields are a god sent. I had to figure out the best way off wearing glasses with but it wasn't hard at all. I use it for sanding, cutting metal, stripping, and painting, just about everything. Thank you so much.

Only fair. Leaks
Unit will not accept the gasket that goes between the mask and the charcoal filter pods that go on each side. May not be totally safe. ???? Don't know.
