I dislike the thickness..it's very thin

Needed a rug in front of the wood stove that was big enough for two dogs and two cats. It is perfect!

I put this underneath another hearth rug to extend the coverage in front of my fireplace. Keeps the area cleaner, but one small piece of glowing ash on it for a split second and a hole is burnt through it. Doesn’t do well with hot tools either, starts to burn the fibers away. So not very heat resistant. I do appreciate that it doesn’t slide around on the floor when walking on it.

While it sort of does the job I bought it for, which is to sit in front of my fireplace and protect the flooring there, it also kind of doesn't. If a log pops and throws a coal and I don't catch it right away, it burns right through the hearth rug. The rug doesn't catch fire or anything, which is something at least, but coals still melt holes through it like it would on any generic indoor/outdoor carpet.

I wish this product was thicker. That's what I was expecting, and wasn't quite happy with what I got. On the outside it is very easy to roll up and put away.

I think this is one of the strangest things we've ever bought. We wanted something to protect the carpet in front of our stove in the basement family room. After we put it in place, we noticed that every day it would be further away from the hearth. At first I thought my husband was playing a trick on me, but he was not. We have a nylon carpet there and don't know if that is what causes it, but it is not very useful if it keeps creeping away! Once I decided to see how far it would go, and after a few weeks it had moved itself about 5 or 6 feet away! My husband decided to put something heavy on the front corners to keep it in place, but even that didn't work - just slowed it down a bit. See pictures - it really did that itself! so, if you want a mat that stays in place, I would not recommend this one. It is fairly lightweight but I imagine it would protect the rug if it would stay in place.

This was the size I expected, but much thinner than I thought it would be.

I didnt check out reviews till after getting over the shock of receiving this item. It arrived in a small brown bag it is thin like a piece of cloth or felt yet is described as a rug this is not a rug or mat but a piece of cloth. Disgraceful Amazon that you let something so sub standard to be sold on your site. Its going straight back.

Mat is awful quality for the money literally a flimsy mat the may doesn't stay in place slips everywhere.

To describe this as fire resistant is ridiculous, it burnt through with the slightest amber. Avoid!
