Pretty decent hardhat for the price

Very lightweight hat, I can tell it is a thinner plastic than my 3M because the bill bends as I lift it from my head. The headband is a synthetic plastic material that will make you sweat like no other; the washable Terry cloth bands are a must. The suspension on the other hand is magnificent. Adjustable nape height, ratchet tightening that seems solid, and a comfortable cross strap enable this hard hat to stay on, even in the heat.

Lightweight, vented, nice suspension, I like the arches over the ears for over-ear protection, the only negative for me is the brim is different from other MSA hardhats I've had and the clips that keep my headlamp in place don't fit.

My husband works as a Union Carpenter and he complained of headaches and heat after wearing regular hard hats. Some of the guys were drilling holes in their hard hats to vent the heat, but this is against regulations and if they are caught, they can be fined.I saw this new vented hat, which meets OSHA regulations and bought it. My husband loved it and I had to come back and order more for the guys on the crew. Can't go wrong with this one.7/19/06 UPDATE I have placed two more orders for these hard hats for other Journeyman Carpenters on my husband's crew. I've searched the web, including Ebay and this is the cheapest you'll get these hard hats for.

Love it. I'm a computer geek that had to use this when we were building a new facility. Two great features - the vented ridge made this much more comfortable than non-vented style. And second the easily adjustable headband. I never realized how many times I would adjust the helmet in a day - loose when walking around and tight when looking up. Very happy with this purchase after using it for 12 weeks.

The vents do seem to help a little, but not much. More notable though, is that the adjustable suspension sucks. I do have a large head, I think my hat size is either 8 1/4 or 8 1/2 but at the largest this hat opens up to it just fits, and it constantly falls off any time I lean over. I have an older vguard non vented that stays on much better.

Industry standard hardhat, I've used MSA for years. Vented is nice for hot days. Unfortunately the suspension shipped with this one fits poorly. The third additional strap that makes this a 6-point vs 4-point suspension provides no additional support and does not sit flat on the head. Currently on support with MSA to resolve this.

Very good quality hard hat and comfortable for all day use. The added strap distributes the weight out evenly on the top of your head. It took about 5 mins. To adjust the straps evenly.
