Excellent product for wood repairs
I purchased this epoxy to repair splits and cracks in the 2"x12" joists on my balcony. The joists were in need of extensive restoration, if possible, so that I didn't have to replace the entire structure. This epoxy worked perfectly and I just placed an order for another kit. When mixed properly the material is thin enough to penetrate deeply into the cracks, checks and screw holes and there is ample time (at least an hour) to use the material before it starts to harden. If you add too much hardener the usable working time is considerably shorter. The cured material is VERY hard and has a clear, glossy finish. It is the only material that is completely waterproof and it will significantly strengthen and repair the deteriorated wood. I highly recommend this product for wood restoration and repair projects.

Worked well for repairing deteriorating wood.
I bought this epoxy to repair rotting and deteriorating wood window sills and to seal new wood which was installed. Also used it to restore and protect old window sashes in an 1845 house. The low viscosity the long pot life of this material allows it to soak into the wood before it cures. I just kept applying it with a brush until the wood would accept no more.

Needs clearer description
I bought this $36 cost, $17 shipping. I did not see anywhere during my perusal of their description that it was not suitable for exterior wood use. I had all my prep done and went to use the product, and lo and behold on the bottle it said " not UV resistant, will yellow in sunlight". I would be interested to know how one uses this product outside without it being exposed to sunlight, and be subjected to a yellow discoloration. Needless to say I wasted about $53, since return shipping would net me not much of a savings.

Excellent! Here's how I work it in my small batch application.
Great epoxy! Your application may be different but for small mixes it may help to know how I work it. I use it less than the manufacturer’s recommended batch amounts for my knife handles, but there are ways around it. Preplan how much you will need and how long it will take to do it. To give you an idea, here's my typical mix: I mix enough for 8 knife handles at a time, a total of 750 grains per batch (500 grains of resin with 250 grains of hardener). That gives me about 45-60 minutes of work time (I also mix in a few drops of water-based leather dye for added color, which acts like a catalyst shortening the cure time a little bit). I use a Dixie cup and a postal scale to measure it precisely. After thoroughly stirring it with a cheap disposable bristle brush I pour it onto a paper plate. Then I mix in enough epoxy filler (West Systems) to make it the consistency of smooth peanut butter. I do that in order to thicken it enough that it doesn't run or sag down my knives. Using the filler doesn't affect the clarity or strength. There are different densities of fillers and the rule is that you use the more dense fillers on more dense surface types. After mixing, I then I spread it thinly over the plate so that it will not start to cure too quickly. If you let it glob then it will begin the heating reaction, which signals that your working time is soon running out. It doesn't "dry", but cures from the reaction between the resin and hardener. It will even cure in water. If you want to speed the cure time you can put a light bulb close to your work. I use a section cut from a Dixie cup like a spatula to scrape up and then spread out the epoxy onto my work. Use surgical gloves too. It's sticky like syrup. Keep an old rag nearby to wipe up excess and messes. It also helps when I lay the knives horizontally and flip them over every 10-15 minutes for about one hour to keep the epoxy even on all sides. Hope that helps you in your application!

Great product.
Easy to work with as an amateur...not finished yet with this project. Won,t know it works until I put the boat back in the water.

making an end table
Had a slab of walnut (17" x 23") that I wanted to make into an end table The piece had lots of interesting figuring - but also had some "empty/bad" spots. I glued up some pieces of soft wood to dam up the "missing" areas and filled them with AeroMarine epoxy - I colored the epoxy mix with a small amount of black pigment. When the epoxy had cured - I planed off the wood dam and the 'extra' epoxy - and sanded the epoxy patch smooth! The result was perfect. Thanks.

Good product
The product was easy to use and gave me sufficient time to coat my leaking canoe. The end result was clear, strong.
