Brilliant twists on P&P
This is a novel in four parts; A Summer Shame: A Pride and Prejudice, is part 3. Because the author goes so far off canon it is really required that you read the two prior books before part 3. Luckily this is not punishment as that this is one of my absolute favorite P&P variation series. In a Summer Shame Darcy & Lizzy have married and are heading for a honeymoon in Scotland via boat. Unfortunately they have had to include Lydia in their plans. Jane and Mary are being hosted by Lady Matlock and Georgiana is visiting Kitty Bennet in Meryton. The chapters cycle through these stories which leads the reader to the edge of her seat hoping that the subplot will wrap up before the book ends. For P&P purists may not like the way the author presents some of the characters but I think it is brilliant.

Yet another good book in the series. I wish I had waited for the set to come out.
Another season in the big story. Save yourself some money and frustration and get the set. I did not and find myself upset with my choice. The big story is worth the read. I am not a fan of novellas when I know the author could just wait and publish it all at once. I would rather pay more for a "book" and enjoy the story as I get to the end. That being said, this story intrigued me as it was not the P&P usual storyline. Lydia's mistakes do not include marriage to Wickham and thus it changes everything for all. Mr. Bennet dies in the first story making Mrs Bennet nuts. This book follows Lizzy as she deals with life's challenges. I did enjoy the book.

Proofreader wanted!
The story would be more enjoyable if their were not so many instances of poor grammar, misspelling, and scrambled sentences that make no sense. The spellchecker on your computer is no substitute for a competent proofreader. I enjoy Ms. West’s books but they all suffer from this same problem which could be easily solved.

Summer Season
Absolutely wonderful! Tragic, but wonderful. I could not put it down. Read it in one sitting and would love the next installment tonight! How nice to see Mary bloom and shine! This is a delightful change. Kitty has a new friend in Miss Darcy which is good for both young ladies. And with a wonderful loving mother figure to guide all of the young ladies life for the Bennett ladies is much brighter since the loss of their father. Anxious to read the next installment! Highly recommended!

Fun read, nice story
I really have really liked this series of books, wish we had the final to tie it all up now. I enjoyed the story, some of the characters are surprising then their attitudes but that's what I find so refreshing. Looking forward to the conclusion.

Lydia Pays the Price
Lydia is so extremely selfish and unpleasant throughout this one that it is hard to feel sorry for her. Elizabeth is all over the map as far as head strong, weak, sure of herself, and timid. I don't know why I keep reading.

A wonderful journey
I am enjoying this journey Ms West is taking us on with the Bennets. I understand this a 20 book cycle and am eagerly awaiting Book 4 of Year One. Ms West has become a new favorite author. I do not post spoilers in my reviews, but will say the growth of her characters is a joy to see. Write on, Ms West! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Nice little read
Some nice twists - an enjoyable read. Thank goodness the Austen characters were not bent out of shape as I've found in some other variations where they were unrecognizable. Will look forward to the next installment.

Absolutely superb
No Sunday lunch was cooked today as I just could put this story down. I was gripped throughout and thoroughly enjoyed every word.My sadness is only that I can read a lot faster than Elizabeth Ann West can write these excellent Darcy tales. I am eagerly awaiting the next.
