Moen R8742D3GBN Bathroom Safety 42-Inch Designer Grab Bar with Curl Grip, Brushed Nickel

I'm not 100% sure what the finger grips are for; I would think it is more comfortable when it is just round all the way. But maybe for someone who will use this on a constant basis, they will get use to that and appreciate it.But it looks nice, connects well to wall, and is solid and strong - when installed correctly (proper number of screws and into beam)

I bought this and another bath bar to match a set of Moen fixtures I bought nearly 15 years ago. They have held up very well, and I expect these (perfectly matched) bars to do so as well.

Good quality and very easy to install. All you need to do is find a stud and use a drill with a Phillips bit.Very secure!

The grab bar is handy, has indents on inside so you don't loose grip and slip. Installing was a bit difficult but is sturdy. The call it brushed nickel, I call it dull stainless.

Moen 42 inch stainless steal grab bar:Installed in bathroom for me and primarily my disabled wife. Installation was not easy. I must have measure for the grab bar and searched for where the studs were in the wall about a dozen times before I was sure where to drill and screw in the fittings. The fittings that hold the bar to the wall were screwed in tight with 3 in screws. The sheetrock wall was compressed in when the fittings were screwed tight. The end covers then are supposed to slide down and snap onto the fittings so they look flush to the wall. Since the sheet rock was slightly compressed and recessed, the fitting could not snap on. I had to unscrew the fittings and cut a circular piece of plastic (from Cool Whip lid) and seat it under the fitting so that when I screwed the fitting back on it was even with the surface of the sheet rock. Then I was able to slide the end caps down and snap them on. Sounds simple. It was not. The stainless steel grab bar looks really nice and it has indentations on the back side, finger grips, which I have come to really like. Don't plan on ever doing this again but if I do I would first consider buying this grab bar again.

We had a narrow spot on the bathroom drywall for mounting the bar. The hardest part of the job was finding the studs for mounting. Once they were located, it was a quick job. The bar is very sturdy, and it looks great.

These are invaluable in the shower.

Como mencioné, es elegante, minimalista, cómodo (agarre de 1+1/4 in), caro pero de calidad aceptable, el color es muy agradable combinándolo con otros accesorios y detalles del baño o zona donde se vaya a instalar.Recomiendo sellar un poco las conexiones a la pared con silicón o sello de fuerza baja (en las bridas y tapas de la misma), se ancla bien aunque en ciertos acabados puedes requerir diferente longitud de anclaje o herramientas sobre todo en tablaroca, en mi caso lo instalé en un muro de concreto y quedó muy firme, claro limpiando y preparando las perforaciones para anclarlo a la pared y usando los diámetros correctos de perforación y "taquete".Aunque el producto es caro, su apariencia lo refleja, la barra es ligera y está aprobada para personas con alguna discapacidad, esto claramente, si sigues las normas e indicaciones para una correcta instalación, las tapas de las bridas quedan muy bien ajustadas dan una apariencia limpia y uniforme, quizá se merece 4.5 de 5 estrellas, pues el único "pero" que le pongo es que el calibre del asidero debió ser algo más grueso, pero no digo que sea insuficiente. Es un producto recomendable.Agrego una nota, al ser esta barra de agarre o asidero tan largo (42 pulgadas), puede dar la sensación de flexionarse al centro si se carga todo el peso del cuerpo en él, sin embargo no parece que eso vaya a generar problemas a futuro aunque recomendaría eventualmente revisar los apoyos.

This grab bar look great in our newly renovated bathroom. I consider a grab bar in the bathroom a necessary evil as typically they take away from the decor but this one looks great and looks like it belongs!

Looks beautiful and works well with the built in finger grips. Quality you expect from Moen; installed on an angle on wall beside commode.

I don't know what I did before having this grab bar. It helps in so many ways.

The bar came packed in a plastic bag which significantly scratched up the metal surface, not a good start. Looking at the shiny fixing cover, there is a large gap around the bar which is quite ugly. Compared to a different Moen grab bar I purchased, the quality in packing and finish is night and day. The grab bar itself is solid, but not as heavy and solid as the other Moen bar despite being longer. There are enough holes in the fixing section to secure it to the wall.
