Happy wit this, but no longer fits in 'holster'
This was backordered for a long time, but both Amazon and the seller kept me appraised of the delays. Once it arrived, the unit fits on snugly over the front of the matching spotlight. The red beam is truly red, and not a bright pink like I've seen with others of this type. While I haven't tested it on the water in the deep dark, judging from use in a dark house I expect it is red enough to not interfere with night vision. The only drawback, which I knew from reading the comments, is with this filter the spotlight no longer fits into the 'holster' or bulkhead/wall mount the spotlight comes with. This isn't an issue on my sailboat as I store the light in a different place, but for those who bought the spotlight specifically so they could mount it and the holder you should be aware of this. Simple solution would be a string or a piece of velcro to hang this filter from the mounted spotlight.

See in the dark!
Does what it is supposed to. Fits very well, don't have to worry about it slipping off. Helps keep my night vision. The downside is that it does cut back a LOT on light transmission. Probably not more than would be expected, but it is a significant difference.

Absolutely perfect fit on Stanley Fatmax for hunting
Perfect fit on my Stanley Fatmax flashlight. Bought the red and green both and use them for predator hunting. This set up is way brighter than any other set up I’ve seen, even the expensive $200+ night hunting lights. Doesn’t slide or fall off. Perfect fit.
