Kept me very Intrigued I like the story and found it very interesting and enjoyable to read I couldn’t stop reading it

I can’t wait to continue the rest of the series because this first volume was absolutely adorable! Charlie and Nick are just so sweet and pure! Protect them at all costs!

Awwww that had me smiling big, so cute, wish there was a bit more dialogue but will definitely continue the series

What’s not to love about this amazingly fun kind and loving story? What I love about all of Oseman’s books, is that she writes something for most everyone in the LGBTQ+ community to connect with…including their supporters. Here books are gentle, in the most gentle of ways. Alice’s books are for any age (IMHO). Thank you Alice Oseman, for the incredible journey you have given, to each and everyone of us, who embarked on it!

It is so wonderful to see a gay love story be handled as wholesomely and tenderly as this novel. This book is pure joy. This would have been a game-changer for me 10 years ago, I am elated that teens and adults today can grow up with something like this. A lot of queer novels tend to talk about dark topics: HIV, homophobic parents, drugs, ostracization etc. It's probably because the people writing and producing the content were young during an era when it was tougher to be queer than now. Heartstopper does not shy away from the tough issues but always the main theme is a loving relationship! A tender and beautiful romance between two boys. I would have loved this during my high school days. Get the books! they are a quick read filled with beautiful comic like drawings and then see the show on Netflix!

I really enjoyed reading this. I saw the Netflix series first, and that brought me to looking up the books. This gives so many feel-good vibes, and it is so sweet. I enjoyed the extra info not mentioned in the tv show and seeing it from different characters’ perspectives.

Eines Tages wird Charlie ein neuer Sitzplatz zugewiesen; er sitzt ab jetzt neben Nick, dem Rugbystar der Schule. Die beiden verstehen sich super, haben den gleichen Humor, befreunden sich. Zarte Gefühle für Nick regen sich in Charlie. Aber das kann er sich gleich aus dem Kopf schlagen, denn Nick – da sind sich alle seine Freund·innen einig – ist ganz sicher hetero und Charlie hat keine Chance bei ihm. Oder? Kurz: weil ich auf Instagram tagelang mit dem Buch und der Serie bombardiert wurde und es kein Entkommen für mich gab! ;) Kurzrezension Das mochte ich… + die zauberhafte, zuckersüße queere Liebesgeschichte, die sich langsam und glaubwürdig entwickelt, die mich berührt hat und mir immer wieder ein Lächeln ins Gesicht gezaubert hat. + die Tatsache, dass das Buch frei von Kitsch ist – und wenn ich das sage, könnte ihr mir das wirklich glauben, denn ich bin praktisch allergisch gegen jede Art von Kitsch! + die herzerwärmende Wohlfühlatmosphäre im Buch und die Tatsache, dass man immer neugierig ist, wie es weitergeht. + die zwei Protagonisten, die liebevoll ausgearbeitet wurden und dreidimensional und greifbar sind. Ich fand sie beide sehr sympathisch, konnte mich mit ihnen identifizieren und habe mir für beide ein Happy End gewünscht! + die ernsten, wichtigen, modernen Themen (Mobbing, Coming-out, Liebe, Freundschaft, Schule, Homophobie, sexualisierte Gewalt), die altersgemäß und tiefgründig behandelt werden. Deshalb eignet sich das Buch auch (wie vom Verlag angegeben) sehr gut für Jugendliche ab 13 Jahren – und es wäre sicher auch eine interessante Schullektüre, die genug Diskussionsstoff bietet. + der verspielte, wunderschöne Zeichenstil, der die Graphic Novel auch zum Augenschmaus macht. Oft werden Gesichter in Nahaufnahme gezeigt, wodurch sich sehr gut Emotionen vermitteln lassen. + die Diversität und den Feminismus. Im Buch treffen wir auf eine große Bandbreite von Hautfarben und sexuellen Orientierungen, auf starke Frauen/Mädchen und sensible Männer/Jungen, wodurch sich das Buch sehr modern und zeitgemäß präsentiert. Aufgrund des Settings (Jungenschule) gibt es allerdings einen Frauenmangel und die Graphic Novel besteht den Bechdel-Test nicht. Dafür ziehe ich einen Punkt ab. + das Ende, das einen sehr gemeinen Cliffhanger bereithält, sodass man gar nicht anders kann, als die Fortsetzung zu lesen (was ich bereits getan habe, ich konnte nicht widerstehen!). + die neu erschienene, ebenfalls sehr divers gecastete Netflix-Serie zum Buch. Auch wenn ich mich an die Schauspieler von Nick und Charlie erst gewöhnen musste, hat mich die Wohlfühl-Serie am Ende doch auf ganzer Linie überzeugt! „Charlie, you need to give up on him.” “I can’t.” E-Book, Seite 124 Das lässt mich zwiegespalten zurück… ~ die Nebenfiguren, die im ersten Band nur ganz kleine Nebenrollen spielen und dadurch etwas blass bleiben. Ich hätte gerne mehr über sie erfahren (besonders über Charlies Schwester Tori, die ich sehr cool und sympathisch fand) – das kommt dann sicher in den Folgebänden, auf die ich mich jetzt schon freue! Das hat mir nicht gefallen… --- Mein Fazit „Heartstopper 1“ ist DIE Liebesgeschichte für alle, die (wie ich) keine kitschigen Liebesgeschichten mögen. Der Hype ist absolut berechtigt! Wer nach einer Wohlfühl-Graphic-Novel sucht, die aber auch ernste Themen tiefgründig bespricht, die einen berührt, mitfiebern lässt, zum Lächeln bringt und einem das Herz wärmt, der ist hier goldrichtig! Große Leseempfehlung – auch für Jugendliche & als Schullektüre! I’ve been waiting to read this one. Heartstopper is a story of two boys, Charlie and Nick, studying at the same school. Charlie is gay. Nick isn’t. They have started getting to know each other. They are great friends. Till, Charlie falls hard for Nick. Does Nick feel the same way? Heartstopper is a story of love - between two boys. One whom the school knows is gay and is bullied for it. One whom the school sees as this stud on the rugby team. The stereotypes are there for a reason. You will also see them break as you go through the book. Heartstopper is the kind of book that should be read by everyone. It is the graphic novel that will make you understand relationships that beyond the heterosexual ones and just the thing that is needed in 2019. Just the thing that was needed way before. I can’t wait for the second volume to reach me. Alice Oseman gets the vibe of the teenagers. The confusion, the heartbreak, the acceptance, and the bullying. The relationship between Nick and Charlie took me back to a time when I was in school and in love. It is the kind of book that will remind you of what it is to be young or what it was. A super book. I love it.

such a good book, came in perfect condition. the only thing I noticed was that the color smudges off a little on your hands, but it’s nothing too much

Dans le tome 1, on fait la connaissance Nick, un joueur de rugby aux allures de golden retriever qui pense avoir sa vie sur les railles et avoir déjà tout compris sur lui. Jusqu'à sa rencontre avec Charlie, un musicien, d'une douceur et gentillesse folle, apprécié de tous et marqué par les événements des mois qui viennent de s'écouler. Une rencontre à l'apparence anodine qui va conduire à la plus renversante des histoires d'amitié et d'amour. J'ai aimé la façon dont les relations amicales sont ici placées au même niveau que les relations amoureuses. L'un ne prend pas le pas sur l'autre. L'amitié peut être approfondie et conduire à une relation plus profonde et passionnée et donc amoureuse. Mais à aucun moment elle ne disparaît. Au contraire, elle se renforce au fur et à mesure que Nick & Charlie approfondissent leurs sentiments l'un pour l'autre. C'est doux et mignon, terriblement innocent et impossible de ne pas s'attacher à eux. De même pour les autres personnages : que ce soit Tao, Aled, Darcy, Tara, Tori, ils sont tous placés sur un même pied d'égalité et sont tous placés dans la lumière. On apprend à les connaître ensemble, puis séparément. Et c'est tout simplement génial.
