SpeedriteGeared Reel

Great geared reel. No fancy features and it just works. I wish they included a hook that would allow you to energize the reel without having to use a jumper. That's my only gripe. My other gripe is that they only had one on Amazon Prime.

They're a good reel except they don't hold tight at the axle, it slips, I've had the same problem with 2 different reels. Hard to explain but the rod that goes through the center is held with a good lock washer.

This is my second reel. They work great. Hold a bunch of polywire and retrieve rapidly.

Ordered two of these reels. Barely went 300 feet loading the first reel with polywire when the reel started to squeak and bind. I backed up and thinking the reel was defective, I started to load up the second reel. Same thing. Squeak sounded like dry plastic on plastic and the crank was harder to turn as I went. The only way these ran well was if thereg other than plastic on plastic. Maybe someone forgot the oil or grease when these were made, but I lost confidence in these regardles was no polywire on the spool. Doesn't help. Great concept, poor execution. These reels need some kind of bearins of what I might try. I had to return them to Amazon for a refund.

These reels are great. Expensive, but they are so much easier to work with than their cheaper counterparts. This one came with a bonus fence grabber, too. It's always nice to get a little something extra.

Only thing I wish I would have seen where it said, not for wire electric fence. Works great for plastic type wire.
