A True Eclectic Mix
There are a lot of knitting books out now featuring gifty type items to make. Most are pretty thematic in that all the projects seem related. I was really surprised and pleased to see that Ms. Epstein has put together the most diverse collection I've seen yet. The projects range from cute & frothy to Goth & Rock, a person really could find something to make for everyone they know with this book. Some of the items are a little to crafty looking. The angel hats are sweet but probably not practical and the Heart wrap made me think of a construction paper project I participated in back in the 1st grade. However the vampire/werewolf hats are spot on with todays trends and the bad boy/lacy cuffed socks would be a fun gift to give/receive. The only true misfire I found in the whole book is the 'doggie-boobie' hat. I know those pouches are for ears but the poor thing does look like he's wearing a bra on his head. It's a big sad No!Eclectic and fun, I know I will have fun making several of the items in here.

Something for everyone
Nicky Epstein is an extraordinary designer of knit goods. Even if some of her styles are a bit outlandish for your taste (not many dogs would embrace the Hat Scarf and the Serious Skull Cap is a little unnerving), you have got to appreciate the artistry that goes into them. The photographs and directions in this book, as in others by her, are very helpful.Chapters include projects for men, women, children, pets and charitable organizations. My favorite item of all in the book is her pattern for an infant-sized Reversible Hoodie. I don't even have a baby to knit for, but I'm going to make it anyway, it's that cute! And after that...there's the Diamond Rib Wrap for me. Can't wait to cast on.

Excellent this time around
I have a lot of Nicky's books and find them uneven so she is one auther whose books I have to see before buying. I looked long and hard at this one because of some of her earlier flops. I fell in love with a few of the projects here: afghan, diamond rib wrap and lace friendship shawl. Both of these shawls also include sleeves making them quite useful. I like some of her hats like the knitting angel one and the cat one. I should really make the travel tags too. Her yarns don't give the number for size yarn but she does give difficulty levels. You have to rely on gauge without knowing the yarns used in many cases.

Tempting
Well I love all the hats for babies to adults really. Angels for girls and Travelin Man for the boys. Fun to do. Almost all the hats are tempting me. But I have only knit the flower (Travel tag) from this book yet. The shawls and wraps are on my list to do.I have several other books of Nicky's and have had to do corrections so I am wondering how this one will go.The heart shawl is ridiculous and the Love Bag is way outdated..my opinion..I would suggest people seriously look thru this book. Consider it for several options.

A Wonderful Variety of Inviting Projects
Another great book of projects to get your motivation rejuvenated. I'm working on my first project out of this book and I find the directions challenging to follow. So I would have to rate this for people who are more experienced knitters. I'm still glad I bought it as I have a great local yarn shop that is more than willing to help figure things out.

This book is by a favorite author,Nicky Epstein. It does not disappoint. It has a broad assortment of patterns separated by your target group to give to. The info is clear and beautiful photos accompany each item. Love it and have chosen several to knit for holiday gifts. gaye ann

lovely patterns
Knitting a Kiss in Every Stitch I love the children's patterns, the knitted angel hat & the babies reversible hoodie. The bride's purse is pretty & floral & could be knitted in a different yarn for use on a night out. If you are a confident beginner you may like the heart shawl as beyond basics pattern. The hearts are worked separately so this would also be a nice pattern for a knitting group. There's some nice gents patterns too. A good mix of patterns & skill levels.
