The Golf Club 2 (Xbox One)

If you think every put or chip on the green should roll 20+ feet past the pin no matter what or that wind doesn't affect iron shots to the green, only woods or that having a 2-foot putt will will run uphill 15' or run off the green when downhill, literally, balls rarely check-up, greens would have to be made of concrete to roll like they do this the game for you. The graphics are pretty good but that's the only good thing about this game. What were the game designers thinking? they obviously don't actually play golf I'm positive of that.

My wife and I, were looking for something to entertain us in the coming winter. Although there are more programmes on TV than we could ever have imagined, to us, they are almost all terrible. We remembered playing a golf game on our PC many, many years ago. This game is nothing like it! It is stunning, so realistic it is almost like watching a documentary. We could also make ourselves look young again. Be warned, it is not a "click when the pointer reaches the mark", it is not easy. This gives it a realism that makes you feel that you are there. It is even a pleasure to look at the views. Amazing!

I am a big fan of the original Golf Club game which I have played for many years. I thought I would step up and try The Golf Club 2 - bad mistake. I really do not like this new version, I think the swing mechanics are broken. Shots off the tee that you know you have hit straight, veer off wildly to the left or right, even though the shot meter is showing that it was hit straight on. Putting can be a farce at times. No, this is not an improvement over the original Golf Club. This newer version will be going on the shelf to gather dust.

The benefit of this game is that the patch has made it easier to use the longer clubs without huge skewing of shots. The game is easy to play but tricky to master so you will not be frustrated by a long process of learning before a level of mastery. Any golf fan will love it, particularly the online element where a huge community of course designers have developed what appears to be unlimited different courses to play on. It is easy to add ghost players whose shots are shown as lines to guide you or add friends to play either at the same time or in turn. As I said, any golf fan will enjoy this game for years.

I have always been a fan of golf games, tiger woods etc but they are too easy, with you swing with the analogue sticks with marker lines to know exactly where you ball is going is way too easy. This however is a golf sim and is very hard to master, you can't just pull back and forward on the stick to drive perfectly straight, putting is even more difficult. Very enjoyable yet frustrating just like the real game in away. If you want to be hitting birdies and eagles straight away this is not the game for you.

A good game with skill and practice required. Some golf games are too easy and interest diminishes quickly,not so here. A vast array of options for gameplay etc and vast amount of courses to play online.Beware once you start playing online with your xbox live you cannot restart your career so you have go grin and bear it if your not very good at start of game. I found this extremely frustrating and hence returned the game.
