The 10 PC. Straight “Premier Elite” Titanium-Plated Micro Chisel Set by Micro-Mark

So whoever is in charge of shipping (either MicroMark or Amazon) does an ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE job of shipping this package of REALLY EXPENSIVE chisels.First of all the package itself is just flimsy plastic, and while great for hanging on a peg at the hardware store, NOT GREAT for shipping. Especially when they just threw it in anun-padded plastic shipping bag.The EXPENSIVE chisels come all banged around and fallen out of their individual place holders. Because of this, several of the chisels have ruined tips that now need considerable sharpening to repair the damage.The chisel quality itself seems ok, maybe not worth the 140 dollar price tag though. Time will tell how they hold up.I was thinking of ordering more of their other chisel sets, like the U shaped set. But if they are just going to arrive damaged, then that is really a MOJOR DETERRENT. Especially if it’s going to be a more difficult shape to try to resharpen.Which is sad because Micro-Mark seems like a great company and I love their tool catalogs!!! AND they are like the only company to offer ultra tiny fine quality chisels in different shapes.So I’m sort of lost as to how to recommend buying these sets. At least from Amazon. Maybe Micro-Mark would provide better quality shipping packaging.If that packaging part was solved, I’d give these a hard 4 star rating, maybe a soft 5.Anyways, I hope this helps somebody else make a decision on how best to spend their hard earned dollars.

As a wood carver, I find these mini "picks & chisels" invaluable in finishing off models.

I bought these chisels for detail inlay work. So far I've only used them on poplar and alder. And I'm not taking away much wood at a time.The first time I used the second largest chisel was on poplar, and after 2 or 3 minutes the portion with the blade seemed to pop back into the handle.The largest chisel has had a piece of the blade chip off, while taking small layers out of alder. This is after approximately three total hours of use for that chisel.I'm not impressed.

These chisels are made of a very soft metal that is not suitable for wood (the bend/dull immediately) and because they are so soft impossible to sharpen. Highly not recommended.

Excellent quality!! Sharp right out of the box. Could use some sort of storage case.
