VTech I5808 Accessory Cordless Handset, Silver/Black | Requires a VTech I5858 or I5871 Expandable Phone System to Operate

battery life is very poor/replacement batteries from v-tech are only about $6 w/shiipping. customer service is pretty poor. all five phones died in less than a year batteries fixed that but, the phones lost a vast majority of their usable distance! v-tech solution was to give me 15% off a new phone system! hum! phones died in less than a year & know i should by another one of your phone systems w/a whopping 15% off! don't think so. phones also fall of the base from a small breeze. look else where!

I purchased this unit about a year ago and am up to about 5 handsets. Love the centralized message center and internal intercom unit. The speaker phone is loud and clear. Message can easily be retrieved from the handsets. Talk time is no problem as the handsets have a very long battery life. With two teenages, the units are all holding up exceptionally well. Our country even depends on them too - I noticed that CTU uses them on 24. Go Jack.

I thought I would like this phone as I like Vtechs. The screen was really small and couldn't read it well. I just didn't like how this phone worked and got very frustrated so I sent it back

I was looking for a cute handset to keep downstairs in my kitchen...not realizing until after the purchase that you hadto buy the "Base" separately. That fact was not explained very well in the advertisement..

Overall this is a very good phone. Range is good, voice quality is very good, speakerphone volume is good, battery life is good (3+ hours on speakerphone). I have been very satisfied with this one. The LCD is small but pretty cool--you can set up color codes for various callers that you can easily see across the room.Downsides are that the finish scratches very easily. The belt clip is a bit fragile. As others mentioned, the phone book management is a bit cumbersome (although this is easy enough to work around).Overall, highly recommend. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the easily scratched body.

Looks good but not reliable

It's very frustrating that you can only talk for about 10 mins. before the battery dies and you are cut off and have to put it back on the charger

I needed an additional handset to go along with the full base for my new apartment, so i bought this. The unit works great and looks really nice. The color display doesn't have great resolution but is nice to look at from a distance. This particular Vtech phone is fabulous.Highly recommended.
