Works great with Google Chromecast (v2.0) out of the box
I bought this to use with a Google Chromecast (v2.0) and it works perfectly. Combined with a USB OTG Y-cable (so has power and comms) it is plug and play.I took it with me recently to a trip to the States and used it with a TPLink WR702N travel router. It meant I could stream for my G4 to the chromecast using LocalCast and YouTube. Never had any stuttering or dropped performanceI use it at home with Emby Media Server to cast to a 24" HDMI monitor. It quite happily casts 1080p MKVs from my Blu-Ray rips.Very pleased!

Worked eventually but took me a while to find the drivers for a Macbook on macOS 11 Big Sur
This USB ethernet adapter works fine now, but I had to find some drivers from the chipset manufacturer as the Trendnet drivers on their website were out of date and would only function up to macOS 10.So, if anyone is struggling just search for Asix USB ethernet drivers for Big Sur and, once installed, it'll work fine.It would be useful if either the supplier or the manufacturer could put this information in with the product. Also, I'm not sure what the point of putting a CD-rom in with a product is any more. I do not have a laptop or PC in the house capable of accessing a CD-rom. Surely a small amount of memory in the product accessible as a USB drive would be cheaper and easier.Happy now it is working, but frustrating to get going!

I bought thsi because it has good driver support in the Linux kernel of the distribution I use (Centos 6). Works well with no fuss and is good value for money.

Excellent, reliable device and service
I bought this to work around a damaged ethernet port, and it did the trick beautifully. It was delivered on time and met my expectations perfectly.

Recommended for OpenBSD
If like me you use the OpenBSD operating system then you will be pleased to know that this network adaptor works straight off. The only shame is that it isn't 1Gbps which would have been the icing on the cake!

Used to Hardwire a Roku Streambar
Roku Streambar box works much better wired through with this than wifi. Well worth it

either not compatible with Mac and Wii or broken
I bought this item to use it with either a MacBook or my Wii/Wii-U.None of them worked. As for the Wii, I have both Wii and Wii-U. Although the advert doesn't say it's compatible, the manufacturer does. I've tried with both consoles and it just doesn't work. There's no drivers to install in a console, it either works or doesn't. And it doesn't.As for the Mac, the seller DOES say that it is compatible but it won't even recognise it. I'm trying with macOS Mojave, I have no other versions to try on.I got V6 of the adapter. It could be that the support and the reviews were talking about previous versions. It could also be that my one was defective, but I just returned, I won't waste time trying and I'll go for one a bit more expensive that I know works 100%.

Useful to convert USB to CAT5.
Nice way to get a 100Mb connection from a USB port.
