A decent motion-sensor bulb, but with a couple of drawbacks
I purchased a 2-pack of these bulbs. I put one in my bedroom closet and it turns on reliably when I open the closet door. And it turns off quickly when I'm done in the closet. The drawback is that I'm not able to use the glass cover on the ceiling fixture. I had to leave the bulb bare or it would not automatically turn on. However, I'm living with it for now.I installed the second bulb on my rear porch. I tested its motion-sensing sensitivity and it came on when I walked within 15 or 20 feet of the porch. And it turned off quickly when I went indoors or left the area. The drawback is that when I'm indoors at night and want to take a quick look out the door window, maybe to investigate a noise, the bulb will not light if I flip the indoor switch off then back on. When the motion sensor is built into the light fixture, you are able to toggle the switch quickly and get the light to come on. Not so when the sensor is incorporated into the bulb. These were not very expensive and they do work OK. However, I probably will not buy more of them. I will stick to motion sensors that either are built into the light fixture or are part of an adapter module.

There's a settings button on the back...
For those who say there is no way to "set up' the unit, actually, there is. One the back of the unit there is a button...Press it once... the light will stay on when motion is detected. And when I say, "stay on", I mean it will stay on until the battery is exhausted.Press the button twice, the light will be on, but dim, until it is activated by motion to full brightness,Press it three times if you only want the light to come on when it detects motion. It will come on at full brightness for 30 seconds, then it will turn off until the next motion is detected.Hope this helps!

Motion detection is not reliable
Does not always register movement. ordered two. one of them stopped working in three weeks of use.

Cannot get bulbs to detect motion, therefore they stay off at night!
Just installed these and flipped on the switch waiting until dark to test the motion sensor. Just went outside and walked around in front of all three fixtures, then moved about and jumped up and down in front of them. I cannot get them to turn on at all. Don't really know what to do now....

Works extremely well for a very specific application
I put one of these in my garage, and one of these in my pantry. Neither was an appropriate place for these:The garage: the motion detection turns off the light after about 30 seconds of no motion being detected, which happened every time my wife went out to the deep freezer or to the end of our relatively small garage. The pantry: The motion detection in this case just didn't work.In both situations, the light bulbs need time to boot, which takes about 3 seconds to work. The good thing is that during this time the light defaults to on, which is great. The bad news is that after it completely boots, the light turns off, then the motion sensor needs to be activated again, so if you walk into the pantry, flip the switch, then walk in, by the time you're actually in the pantry looking for something, the light turns off and you'll need to wave at the light to get it to turn on.

Great Find
I've been wanting to find an inexpensive and easy way to have my front porch light be turned on without me having to leave the light on all day. This allows me to do just that. Now, I won't have to worrying did I leave the front porch light on, when I know I will not be returning home until after dark.

They work!
I was hesitant after reading mixed reviews. Then I thought, “what the heck - they’re not that expensive.” I was pleasantly surprised! The light switch is set to ‘on’ all the time but the bulbs only activate to motion after dusk. Their range for motion detection isn’t wide, but when we step within 8 feet or so, they come right on. They only stay on for about 30 seconds if there’s no further motion, but will stay on indefinitely if there’s constant movement. Works great for our needs and so much cheaper than buying two motion sensor light fixtures for our deck.

I've got issues...
**Edit**I'm growing unhappy with these lightbulbs. I want them to stay on longer than 45 seconds or so when I'm rummaging in the garage and moving around they'll sense my presence and stay on. As it is they turn off fast and don't come back one when I move. They evidently need time to reset or something.I love everything else about them but that's a pretty big "no" in my book. Now ]I wish I had bought a different pair.----------These light up when I get close (not a tremendous range but adequate for me), they're as bright as I want them to be, and they're inexpensive. What's not to like? I don't like how short a time they stay on. I have them in the garage because the garage door opener light doesn't work anymore and twice they've gone out while I was still in there.

Didn't work in our outdoor lights
Outside, We removed the bottom portion of the light fixture so that nothing would obstruct the light sensor but it would not turn on.We ended up putting them inside in our lower level closets and they work fine except when we walk up the stairs they turn on for a bit.. (from possible weight movement?? or ghost?)

Warm White = Yellow
I've bought a few inexpensive LED bulbs in the past and these are no different. "Warm white" is code for "yellow". I'm using these in the basement and in a closet, so no biggie....but achieving a true, incandescent "warm white" is clearly a work in progress for these guys.

wonderful bulbs
These lights work really well inside and I even put one out on my shed. I love walking into my work area of basement and light automatically comes on. Last night I put one out on my shed and it's like a security light that will only come on if someone hops the fence (trespassing) at night. Put one in garage ceiling fixture so when I come home and turn off car I still have light until I leave garage. They are HALF the price of the ONE I bought at a big chain store and THAT one is NOT light sensitive as well as motion sensitive. These are great bulbs.Note: they'd make a great gift for anyone or a stocking stuffer. I love them.

Motion sensor only works in darkness.
These bulbs work fantastic in very dark areas such as a basement, or at night of course. I encountered one problem trying to light my dark utility room in my basement. Our light socket hangs about 4 feet from the door and I was constantly fumbling to find the pull cord. I hoped that this bulb would solve the problem. Unfortunately when I open the door to this area, just enough light also enters from behind me to deactivate the automatic motion sensor in the bulb. That being said the bulbs work great in the really dark corners of the same room. I have to walk in farther (in relative darkness) for them to activate though.

Perfect addition to saving money
I purchased to use in my basement , so when I turned on the light ( 3 fixtures on 1 switch) I was only using where I need it. I was so impressed I purchased a second box, to use upstairs. The light comes on briefly, allowing full light, but when no motion, the light goes out until it is activated again. Great product if you have a house where members “ forget” to turn off light switches .
