I used it as a journal, it was perfect.

The actual notebook's cover is nowhere near as bright and vibrant as what one is led to believe by looking at the picture on Amazon's page. The actual colours are rather dull. You can see how the trick was done if you look at the attached photo: clearly, the picture for Amazon was taken under a bright light that makes the cover look much better than it does in reality.Additionally, if you are buying this journal to send as a present -- beware: it's packaged without any clear protective sleeve/envelope, just the notebook in the regular rough cardboard brown envelope used by Amazon. Thus, if you want the gift to look presentable, be ready to supply your own clear envelope.All in all, pretty disappointing. I'll think more than twice before buying another Flame Tree Notebooks product again.
