Umberto Lenzi's zombie shocker NIGHTMARE CITY stars actor Hugo Stieglitz as a reporter caught in a living, breathing zombie hell. When an airplane comes into contact with radiation from a nuclear disaster, it causes the passengers to mutate into scabby-faced humanoids with a compulsion to kill and drink the blood of their victims. As the zombies move into the city and beyond, will anyone or anything be able to stop the wave of bloody death and disease that threatens to decimate mankind? Filled with nonstop violence, gory special effects and pulse-pounding music, and featuring supporting performances by Laura Trotter, Francisco Rabal and Mel Ferrer, RARO is proud to present this oddball gem of Italian splatter completely remastered and uncut.

Twilight Time could learn a thing or two about the right way to Transfer Film to HD from this small Indie CompanyThe Audio is 8/10 (It's better to watch the film with the original Italian Language track with English subtitles IMOThe Umbero Lenzi Interview is interesting it was conducted in 2000 (Never seen it so it was cool) Keep in mind the audio is crumby (turn it up and listen good his English isn't his first languageThe booklet inside the case is very coolMy only major c/o is lack of any Major Special Features (It would've been cool to get a Audio Commentary by anybody!!!Quentin Tarantino loves this film it would've been a Huge financial draw if they got him to do a commentary trackIf he really loves this film I think he would've if he wasn't busy with a filmI'm really not sure how this got a BR release still (I'm happy to have it though)Cause it has a cult following but, it's not massive like other underground horror filmsThat might just be why the price tag is so high for itIf you are a Huge fan of Umbero Lenzi you'll want to add this to your collection.I could without a doubt see this being out of print in a less then a year then selling on Amazon and eBay for a insane asking price! If you do enjoy Nightmare City I Highly recommended Lenzi's rarely seen 1991 Black Demons it's also very under-rated and rarely even viewed until the start of the dvd crazy of the early 2000'sUPDATE 8-22-2015 2 moths ago I discovered that the great UK Distributor Arrow Video was putting out a Strong Collector Edition ofNightmare City but, you can not order in through Amazon.uk.co (which is odd I've bought a great number of Import BR's from there UK Site)but, you can get the BR direct from ArrowVideo.comafter looking at all the great extras I had to bite! Review for Arrow Region B Nightmare City Blu-Ray
The key point to take away from the beginning is despite being called a Region B Blu-Ray that is listed as a PAL Blu-Ray that won't play on Region A players, the Arrow Region B Blu-Ray of Nightmare City is actually a region free, NTSC Blu-Ray and DVD combo pack. So, though it's an import, both discs will play on a Region A/1 Blu-Ray/DVD player on an NTSC TV. So, if you're in North America, don't be afraid to order this item. If you don't have a Blu-Ray player, you can still play the DVD disc which contains, near as I can tell, the same contents as the Blu-Ray disc. Which is unusual. If you're a fan of Nightmare City, this edition is the definitive one to get. It's the only release that has ever had a commentary track. While it's by a contributor to Fangoria who is a fan of the film, it's still fun to get someone's insight into the picture as no previous releases have had a commentary track. There are 2 interviews with a cast member and the director. There's the trailer and an alternate titles sequence that uses the title Attack Of The Zombies. There's the original Italian audio track on a print with the original titles, including the original Italian title of the film. There are also English subtitle tracks to translate. The downside is a tad bit ironic. There are actually two versions of the movie on the disc. The original Italian print and an English print with the title Nightmare City. However, the original vault materials for both prints had deteriorated with age. As they clearly say before the films start, there are color dropouts and various other film damage in both prints. So, it's a bit of a shame that Blu-Ray quality for the prints can't be achieved and that past DVD releases may actually look better than the prints on this release. If you're a fan of Nightmare City, you probably already have at least one DVD release. So, you may question if this Blu-Ray is worth it, particularly if you already own a Nightmare City Blu-Ray release. Given the sheer number of extras available on this release and the fact that though you'll have to import it for North America, it still plays fine on Region 1/A Blu-Ray/DVD players. I would highly recommend this release for any fan of Nightmare City. I've got VHS releases from Continental and New Star under the title City Of The Walking Dead. I've got a double feature DVD with City. I've got a German DVD of Nightmare City. I've got the Anchor Bay, Blue Underground, and Karo DVD's, and I still bought this Blu-Ray release, and I'd recommend it. I didn't have a Blu-Ray release, so I got a bonus.

Mayhem!
Fast maniacs, extreme bloodshed, and no rest for the wicked. Nightmare City is a fun ride if you want to watch the human animal go off the rails and onto a rampage.

GROUNDHOG DAY FOR ZOMBIES
This disc from ARROW Is a winner .First lets talk about the movie but i wont say to much as i dont want to spoil it for those who have not seen it yet but what i will tell you a plane lands with the living dead on board then all hell breaks loose. There is loads of blood in the movie but for me what made this movie apart from what had gone before we have zombies running and having guns etc.and the action takes place all over unlike the american movies that seem to take place in the one spot so this movie and THE LIVING DEAD AT THE MANCHESTER MORGUE broke some of the rules for this type of movie made at the time. Now for the extras on the disc we have the trailer for the movie the restoration of the movie and interview with cast you also can watch the movie in english or italian and lots more.So to sum up if you enjoy this movie this is the disc for you WELL DONE ARROW and well done for letting us know why the picture is not up to your standard with your short on the trouble you had with the restoration as part of the extras

A favourite from 1980
A favourite from 1980, the infected move quickly in this one, so no one can easily escape (This is sometimes called a zombie movie but it is really an virus movie as they hardly behave like Romero's zombies or The Walking Dead.) It is one of the early examples of this genre and paved the way for many other movies about infected people( eg 28 Days Later, World War Z)Italian director Umberto Lenzi followed this up with the controversial Cannibal Ferox which is way more gory than Nightmare City but effective nevertheless.

Classic!
Best picture quality Iv seen so far! Some people disagre but I'm not a fan of film grain. The human skin tone does look a bit to fleshy at times but it gives it that retro look!
