Moments of Truth Paperback – December 22, 2011

If it's not true, it does not matter. What is truth? The Bible teaches: truth is that which is consistent with the mind, will, character, glory, and being of God. Even more to the point: truth is the self-expression of God. That is the biblical meaning of truth. Because the definition of truth flows from God, truth is theological. Truth is also ontological—which is a fancy way of saying it is the way things really are. Reality is what it is because God declared it so and made it so. Therefore God is the author, source, determiner, governor, arbiter, ultimate standard, and final judge of all truth.

I purchased the kindle version and two copies of the actual book for my brothers for part of their Christmas gifts. I am not sure that my youngest brother is reading it but I know that the other and I are truly enjoying this devotional. I usually start off with great intentions to read an entire devotional through to the end of the year but I usually forget, get behind and give up. I will say that I did finish Living Hope for the End of Days: 365 Days of Devotions from the Book of the Revelation which is by John Samuel Barnett with foreward by John MacArthur. Pastor MacArthur recommended this book one Sunday when I visited his church. Anyhow, this Moments of Truth book is very good and I am determined to read it every day.

Daily you will be challenged of how through God's word he reveals himself and who we are and how great his love is for us.

People need encouragement and this delivers. Turn off the news and turn your heart to God!

This is a great tool for us to start our day after reading the Word of God. Pastor MacArthur manages to give great teaching in just a few words every day. And, only the Truth. Great reading for Christians.

This devotional has a daily scripture and daily excerpt from one of Dr. MacArthur's works. Some of the titles from which excerpts have been taken include the Battle for the Beginning, Hard to Believe, The Truth War, Slave, A Tale of Two Sons, and The Gospel According to the Apostles. For someone new to his work, this is a great introduction; for someone familiar with his work, this gives a wide sampling of Dr. MacArthur's more recent works. Very helpful book and highly recommended!

I've never been disappointed by John Macarthur! Great daily devotional.

I am so thankful with the Lord for speaking to us through men that fear him and do all things through his command!!
