Essential Oils for Beauty, Wellness, and the Home: 100 Natural, Non-toxic Recipes for the Beginner and Beyond

Having just started my Essential Oil journey, I've purchased several books over the past 6 weeks to guide me along the way. Some books have an abundant amount of information about Essential Oils and their individual uses and properties but little to no information on how to blend/mix with other oils. Some books have no information about essential oil properties and the only information written is, "Place six drops of lavender in the water chamber of a diffuser to get over your bad day." And still there are the books that rely heavily on oils available only through MLM companies. This book encompasses everything! There are some wonderful "recipes" for the usual ailments for both adults and children with explanations on why you can't use the same products for both adults and children. Safety precautions and why it's okay to use bergamot oil in body wash (you're rinsing it off) but not in body lotion (it sits on your skin and makes you sensitive to the sun). Great recipes for health and beauty. Awesome recipes for cleaning products. And none of the recipes are reliant on oils purchased through MLM companies. In short, this is the book I've been looking for.

I received this as a gift and it is one of the best presents I've ever gotten. I have been using essential oils for a few months, and wanted a book with recipes. This is perfect. The intro gives you 10 basic oils and the recipes introduce 25 others. I wish I had gotten this when I first started using essentials, so I would have had a better idea of which ones to purchase. My essential oil rep was new at selling essential oils, so we've been learning together. In fact, I gave her one of these books. I read all the recipes, picked the ones I most wanted to try and wrote a "grocery list" of the oils I need to do this. My representative is a very happy lady! I can hardly wait for my order to come in so I can try the recipes. I especially like the way the book is formatted by category. I highly recommend this book and will tell everyone I know about it.

Have starting reading and am enjoying the information provided. Very helpful. I look forward to trying out some of the recipes (have not yet and cannot comment of the effect/clarity of the recipes at this time).

I love that this book explains the essential oils so thoroughly. I also love all the different recipes with the oils to make your own. A book you will want to keep in your recipe section!!!!

I love the format - it is set up by category so you can look things up as you need them. Easy to follow recipes and well researched summaries of each oil. I would recommend this for anyone who is into essential oils or just wants to find out about them. Beautiful cover, also.

This is an excellent book full of very usable and easily assembled recipes, including clear explanations of the purposes of each recipe's ingredients. A highly recommended resource.
