The Parkland Heavy Duty Black Plastic Ground Spike is a versatile and durable solution for securing garden parasols, rotary washing lines, and various outdoor activity poles. With a simple screw-in system and a length of 40cm, it accommodates poles with diameters from 2.5cm to 5cm, ensuring stability and ease of use without the need for concrete.

underwhelmed
This was described as heavy duty, but actually didn't feel that way.Said it was suitable for poles of varying diameters. Ours was in the range stated but when you tighten the screw it simply pushes the pole over so not upright any more. Also, the insert piece has no hole for the screw to go through so unless you cut a hole (which we had to do), the insert distorts. Disappointed.

Parkland® Heavy Duty Black Plastic Ground Spike
It arrived on time. It has two holes (one on each side) near to the top. A metal bar is supplied to put through the two holes and turn the ground spike into the ground. Unfortunately it cracked between the top of one of the holes and the top of the unit. If you have heavy ground I would recommend a metal spike.

Detail
The screw end is much thicker than the photo details. So for now I have to work out how I will use it as too big

It bent slightly when screwing it in
Needed to be more sturdy

Useless
Unfortunately placing this plastic 1 in the ground was just going great until the plastic split and now I really xnt get mine further in the ground so now once again I have the leaning tower for a washing like.

Does what it says
This does what it says. Water the ground first for easy install. Unfortunately we have a rather boggy garden but shoved some postcrete down the hole watered it then screwed in this and it’s held perfect. It’s nice to be able to put the line away when not in use.The only downside was the adapter’s didn’t go down small enough for our line however a bit of duck tape around the bottom of our line fixed this.

Cannot get into the ground
Says you can just turn and screw into the ground, that doesnt happen, goes in a few inches and no further. So is useless and unslightly!

Instantly broke!
Awfully brittle. I assumed this was metal when I bought this, but this was my mistake. To ensure I didn’t hit concrete or large rocks I used a very large drill bit to make a pilot hole in the ground. Was able to drill down further than the length of the spike with no issue. When I started to turn the spike into the ground the plastic near the top snapped. I persevered a little fearing a further piece snapping off and the the spike broke in half!
