Encyclopedia Brown Tracks Them Down

Fun Still…
Got five gotchas right, and one half. Four got this reader foiled again. Always pay attention to details no matter how insignificant it may seem. And don’t get too obvious. Still fun no matter what, even if one of the puzzlers was too easy. Recommended.

Adult nostalgia and children's enjoyment
I read Encyclopedia Brown books when I was a kid 40 years ago. I saw these on Amazon and immediately bought a few for my 8 year old daughter. She's an advanced reader and once she starts one of these books, she can't put it down. I also bought these because the mysteries included help develop critical thinking, which is not emphasized in school enough these days. After she reads the multiple stories in these books, I let her try to solve it before checking the back of the book and we talk through the facts presented and I let her think through the logic and explain it to me and she loves the AHA! moment when talking through the facts leads to her solving the mystery. Good for critical thinking and spending quality time with your kids.

My granddaughter loves these books
My 6-year-old granddaughter can’t get enough Encyclopedia Brown books!! She goes through one in a day, then re-reads it several times. Her dad, my son, loved them when he was a little older than she is now.

Great "Read With Your Kids" Books
I remember reading these when I was a kid and was glad to see Encyclopedia back with some new stories. They are great because they make you CONCENTRATE on the stories to find the clues to solve the mysteries. My son and I take turns, each reading a page aloud, until we get to the end of the story then we discuss what we think happened and why. Sometimes we are right and sometimes we are wrong. It's alot of fun and it helps him learn to "find the details" in the stories. If you have a grade/middle school child, I'd highly recommend any of these books.

Two stars for the formats, but these are great learning books for kids.
I really love the Encyclopedia Brown Books. I really enjoy seeing them on the Kindle and they are fun little puzzler stories to read to my kids and see if they can solve them. Can't say enough how enjoyable the logic that some of the thinking that goes on with these stories is great teaching tool for my kids as well.So why the two star listing? Well the formatting sucks and sucks harder than a brand new Hoover vacuum on a shag carpet. There is no link between the solution and the story nor the next story in the series. So you have either have to create a link to the solutions individually for each of the or create a link to the solutions chapter and then flip back to the stories. This is an issue that nearly all of the Penguin Ebook editions published today have had. It is annoying and aggravating since this should have been something easily created when the book was originally ported over to an ebook standard. I mean I have seen self-published books in similar genres that have hot links going back and forth between solutions or maps or appendices over to the main text. So that is why the two star listing.

Encyclopedia Brown Tracks Them Down
My grandson, age 8, started reading The Encyclopedia Brown series this past summer. I've just ordered him 4 more from Amazon as Christmas gifts. He absolutely loves the books and the fact that there are 3 different stories and mysteries to solve in each book. And his Mom and I like the factthat the books are so reasonable to purchase..average 4.99 per book. I would highly recommend them...he hasn't read one he didn't like yet!

Great series for boys
I bought the Encyclopedia Brown series for my 8 year-old nephew and he absolutely loves it. He is slightly behind in his reading and this series is great for him because the chapters are short and interactive. He reads one chapter before bed every night. Each chapter is a separate mystery so the book can easily be picked up at any time for a quick read.

Glad I found these books!
My 10 yr old grandson didn’t enjoy reading much until I gave him this book for a gift. Now he wants to read more! He really enjoys these stories & I’m glad there’s a lot more. I recommend them.

1) The Case of the Champion Skier:駐ラテン・アメリカ大使 Ware 氏が誘拐され、自宅には友人達から贈られた誕生日プレゼントが6つ残されていた。 3) The Case of the Flying Submarine:ヘリから落下したのは軍の機密物だった。 4) The Case of the Boy Boxers:ボクシング練習のために Elmer と友人2人が居た Youth Center から両替用の小銭が盗まれた。 5) The Case of the Model Universe:町一番の怠け者 Wilford は、またもやニセの儲け話で子供たちから金を巻き上げようとする。 6) The Case of the Flower Can:Stella 7) The Case of the Half-White Horse:乗馬教室経営者の Sol は宝石窃盗の罪で逮捕された。 8) The Case of the Apple Cider:リトルフットボールリーグのスター選手 Buster は森で酔った鳥を見つける。 9) The Case of the Two-Dollar Bill:Sumner 10) The Case of the Ax Handle:ミミズ取りコンテストで Ambrose が使う予定だった斧の柄が折られてしまった。 1) The Case of the Champion Skier、5) The Case of the Model Universe、6) The Case of the Flower Can、7) The Case of the Half-White Horse、8) The Case of the Apple Cider、9) The Case of the Two-Dollar Billが、著者の昔の作品と事件のセティングこそ違うが、謎解きが全く同じだからだ。 The Case of the Murdered Skierと p.31. The Case of the Coin Collector また、5)、7)、8)、9) は More Two-Minute Mysteries の p.55. The Case of the Model Universe、p.111. The Case of the Timely Neigh、p.75. The Case of the Provoked Assault、p.87. The Case of the Second Willの焼き直しだ。
