This is a fun, pensive book that will encourage young children to learn about and respect other religions ...
David was learning a lot about baseball from his friend Zach who was a thirteen-year-old boy. Zach had invited him to his synagogue, but David was worried and talked to his Dad. “What if I don’t understand things? What if I do something wrong?” His Dad reassured him that everything would go well and he talked to him about being respectful. Zach was going to have a bar mitzvah and it was a very important birthday for him. It was really interesting for David to learn about a kippah, Hebrew, the prayers and the singing, but it also was a lot of fun!On Sunday when David and his Dad went to their church, Grace Lutheran Church, he learned a bit more about religion. David also went to a Catholic church with his Mom and learned that they were “different kinds of Christian churches.” David had all kinds of questions for his father and he tried to answer them. When they were volunteering at a place that served food to those in need, he asked Sophia about her church. Sophia said that “her family isn’t a part of a religion.” David began to be interested in other religions and took a closer look at others around him. He learned about Muslims, Buddhism, Christianity, and some of their celebrations. Do you know about other religions? This is a fun, pensive book that will encourage young children to learn about and respect other religions. David is aware of other religions, but doesn’t know much about them. He becomes curious when attending the synagogue where Zach has his bar mitzvah. Many children can explore the different religions on their own, but it would make a great classroom project to share with a friend or friends. Just by looking around him, David finds there are many different religions and beliefs. He also discovers that some people aren’t part of any religion. In the back of the book is an index, a glossary of terms used in the text, a “Make a ‘How I Can Help’ List” activity, and additional recommended book and website resources to explore. There are free complementary downloadable educational resources on the publisher’s website.CLOVERLEAF BOOKS ALIKE AND DIFFERENT:My Clothes, Your ClothesMy Family, Your FamilyMy Food, Your FoodMy Home, Your HomeMy Language, Your LanguageMy Religion, Your ReligionThis book courtesy of the publisher.

Missed it's mark
I was looking for a book that touched on many religions. This book mostly talks about Christianity Catholic and lutheran. Then a VERY brief sentence on 2 other religions. I feel like this was written by a Christian person who's just trying to say yeah there are other religions besides being Christian but most people in the world are Christian. Which maybe is true, I actually have no idea... But as far as learning about other religions this isn't the book. Also the references to basketball are a little annoying but it is what it is...

Annoying references to baseball
This is a nice book overall but it is let down by the underlying message that we all have different religions and that's ok - because we can all play baseball together anyway. Just a bit annoying.
