Q: I plan for on storing this in my car. Will this damage the unit or internal batteries ?

Not in my experience. I have had Bushnell rangefinders for 12 years and have always kept them in the vehicle with my clubs. (Except during winter, of course.) I have had the Tour V5 for two months now and, except when playing, it's never left the vehicle. I play 3-4 rounds a week and am still on the factory battery. My original Bushnell was a Pinseeker 1500 and it endured CA and AZ summers and lasted for over 10 years. Sadly, I finally dropped it one too many times over the years.

Q: Do you get a red ring around the lens or feel a small vibration when locking on a bunker

No. I find that the visual and vibration jolt only appears if the flag is in front of another object.

Q: Battery is it rechargeable ?

No. More important, the cap on battery compartment is VERY difficult to install. The cap is threaded for a screw in closure. However, the threaded length is VERY short, and with fine threads. Far too easy to misalign the cap thinking you have it closed. Then, while playing, the cap falls off, battery drops out and you are left fumbling around in the middle of golf. I returned the Bushnell unit and found a rechargeable unit with the same features for less than half the price. Search Amazon site for " rechargeable golf rangefinder". I am very happy with mine.
