We bought this for our 4 year old for Christmas and were a bit worried about the reviews saying hardly any hot wheels cars worked on the track. We have been playing with it for an hour and its great. Flatter cars work better but we have found them very easy to identify in his collection and I would say 8 out of 10 that we choose work great. They fling off every few laps but that is the idea, lots of crashes and flying cars. The most important thing... our son LOVES it. Definitely make sure you have D batteries on hand as they are not included. This product has exceeded our expectations in the face of some average and poor reviews. We got it for 40 pounds too, so great value. Also, it isn't as big as we feared, and the lower loop would be easy to remove for putting away in a corner.

I found the assembly instructions a little hard to understand and it took a while to put together but the joy of switching it on for the first time and watching cars fly by far overrides the assembly problems I had. Note some cars do not work depending on their size and configuration, some of the less conventional models get stuck easily. All in all well worth the money for the sheer enjoyment had!!

The set up is quite cool, and more entertaining than I thought’s it would be. One annoying thing is that I bought this kit hoping to use the speed booster in a larger setup, but the exit of the booster is curved upwards before you connect the track, so you need to add a loop or upward part of track coming out of the booster before adding any more track. Another annoying thing about the booster is that the battery covers have very fiddly screws to hold them down. The design is poor and wouldn’t take much to improve with some form of clip or better screw/bolt setup. Other than that it is worth getting.

Mixed feelings- it was easy enough to put together but the mechanism seems faulty on ours. It stops and starts and weakens then speeds up. This was my 6 year olds birthday gift from us and I’m disappointed. I would like to pursue a replacement as I can see the potential for it being great fun and brilliant.

My 5 -y-o grandson is mad about cars and when he opened his parcel to find his Hot Wheels set his eyes lit right up. Double edged present in effect as his Dad enjoyed helping to pit it all together and then they've both had hours of fun and delights since

My son loves hot wheels so I thought it would be an interesting toy where he would be able to use his huge collection of cars. Unfortunately he wasn’t really into it and at first was scared by the noise. It is very loud and not really a pleasant sound. The assembly took forever although I was reading the instructions they weren’t very clear and I was still confused.. it needs 4 large batteries (not included) and if they’re only a little worn out the cars won’t be able to go up really. But the worst thing is, this thing destroys cars!!!! It bends their wheels and its not always possible to fix them back. Before we realised that, it has damaged many nice cars from my boy’s collection. Also, the majority of cars won’t be able to complete the whole route. They need to be a certain size, shape and be metal underneath in order for the little magnets on the track to keep them going. So, unless you don’t mind the noise it makes, replacing batteries quite often, the size of it and the fact that it is repetitive and damages cars, go ahead. But I really regret buying it and it just stands in the house and collects the dust. Wouldn’t buy again.

Grandson LOVED this. Hot wheels is a brand you can count on to be good quality. He was able to assemble it himself and this has provided hours of play.

Super garage HotWheels , cadeau pour noël idéal pour tout enfants fan des ses petites voiture, mon fils s'éclate avec. Côté bruit , oui ça fait du bruit mais pas des masses. Les seuls points négatif que je pourrais mettre c'est que les piles ne sont pas fourni, ce sont les plus grosses en plus, il n'y a qu'une seul voiture fourni avec. le reste est impeccable .
