An Abundance of Information at Your Fingertips
Assessment Accommodations for Classroom Teachers of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students was a textbook I needed for graduate class about assessments. I was literally shocked at the vast information found within this book. Although, it's only a few hundred pages and not very thick, each and every question I had about assessing English Language Learners in the classroom was answered within the contents of this book. If you are or will ever be a teacher to children that are learning English as their second language, this book is key to your success in teaching English Language Learners. I got the book from the Amazon seller at a third of the price of the book in my college's bookstore. The price was so reasonable, the book came just two or three days after being purchased, and it's in great condition.

Accommodations
The book I received was in so-so shape. The cover was torn at the bottom and pretty well worn and used. It did come fairly quickly in the mail

Full of words
We used it for a Graduate course in the Education department for a course in ESL. I got an "A", the book gets a grade too, an "F".I learned all from the Internet, Wikipedia, Youtube, & the University library databases. There is so much great stuff online, free. Dr. Herrera preaches that linguistic complexity in assessments is bias against CLD students, and the Prof. fills pages with academic, polysyllabic discourse obfuscating the content one needs to learn, as most academics. In my undergraduate study, I always had well written textbooks, even in the dreaded required courses, e.g. Organic Chemistry, well written, but not a Chem. major. My recommendation: The Professor should audit English Comp 101 for the next edition. The publisher gets a grade of "F" too for letting the ink fill up the pages to create an expensive textbook in order to price gouge students.Buy it used from Amazon.
