Painting Techniques (Paint Along With Jerry Yarnell)

This is a good book for anyone starting to paint with artist acrylic paint. It is easy to understand and Jerry Yarnell is a professional artist with many of your questions explained. The book arrived in good condition and on schedule. I am pleased with my order as well as the seller.

While I do not have the same style as Jerry Yarnell, I certainly got a lot of good information and tips from this book.

Well written and illustrated. Had hoped Jerry Yarnel had dvds, but the book is helpful.

Love all Jerry Yarnell's art instruction books. He provides step by step pictures in color resulting in the finished product. His landscapes are beautiful and colorful. I however tend to paint in more muted, darker tones with a more limited pallet. But trying his techniques for a change of pace, a fresh approach. I don't try to copy, but use some of his examples to improve myself, e.g., with rocks. Contrary to some, I don't find his books repetitive, and have many of them. They always serve as a source of inspiration, to get me painting again.

This book by Jerry Yarnell gives wonderful examples of exercises for painting popular subjects like mist, mountains, trees and reflections. I found it very helpful and very happy I bought it. Great addition to any art library.

This is an instruction book,and itis in good shape. Don't miss anything by Jerry Yarnell,if you want to learn to paint.

Another good book to buy to learn how to paint landscapes. As a teacher he is excellent with multiple demonstrations for each picture. My only critque is that for me I love bold bright colours and his painting is softer and more subtle but still lovely.

Having more tools in the tool box is a good thing. And learning different ways to paint trees, water, rocks, people, just gives you more to look at. It is sort of like the fact that you can play a lot of songs with just 3 chords on the guitar. But it is better if you can change key, play several cords in each key.
