Works great - love the fine and coarse sides
My newish kitchen knifes we’re losing their edge - I researched sharpening- I didn’t know how to use the rather coarse honing rod that came with the set. Research indicated that a fine ceramic rod is preferred- a few swipes of this rod and the knife edge was restored to knew - read up on proper use

Too thick for my knife block.
Can’t write a review on this because I’m returning it. It looks very nice and good quality but it’s twice as FAT as the steel from my block that I’m trying to replace. Not even close to fitting the assigned slot on my knife block. Perhaps it was not designed to go in a block .. just a heads up

The best boning knife I ever used!
This knife from Dalstrong is the best knife I've ever used. It is super sharp, and does not need any power to cut into just about any meat. It's thin and short so it makes it easy to detach bones from meat in a very flexible way. The design is also a plus, with the chic black cooking. If you often butcher bone-in chicken thighs, bone-in beef cuts like rib eye, and pork spareribs, this one is for you.

BUY. THIS. NOW.
A collective $45 with the 400/1200 diamond sharpening plate I bought in summer 2021, all my personal straight edge knives are now able to cleanly slice printer paper midair. The other day I sliced tomatoes at work and was able to cut through the skin with less than an inch of edge travel. Absolutely wonderful product. If you have good sharpening form, it won't disappoint, but you do need to be capable of using it first.

Rejuvenate your knives with a quick hone.
These ceramic hones are the best way to maintain a knife edge between sharpenings. Most people think it’s a sharpening steel as the old name erroneously implied. Well it’s not steel and it does not sharpen.. it de burs the knife edge and thus brings it back into alignment. Yes, your knife will feel sharper, but don’t expect a dull blade to be “sharpened” by this ceramic rod..On a side note, these ceramic hones are wider than most knife blocks accommodate so you’ll either need to widen the hole to fit or keep it in a drawer or hung somewhere. I widened my knife block’s hole with a spade blade and now proudly have a fantastic custom setup.

Initially not impressed, in fact I'm disappointed.
I have several sharpening "steels" 3 are ceramic, 4 are diamond and several are actually steel. So far this sharpening/honing tool is tied for dead last in my opinion. My better tools have grooves and pockets you can feel the blade catching on and straightening the edge with. This thing feels like nothing, even the grooved side feels like it's catching nothing. The results are the final decision factor for me in that after trying two different positions on both grits on the steel on 3 different knives with 3 different steel compositions I can pretty solid say the thing is a waste of money. The tip of the steel is the same cheap plastic as the handle and it is not grippy at all so be ready for it to move if you put the steel point down into your cutting board to sharpen. The handle feels like it's made of hollow cheap plastic that will break if tested. I can't suggest anyone buy this thing for any reason at this point. I will take it to work at my butcher shop and beat it up to see if it has any merit on my tools there but with over 5 years in cutting meat 6 days a week I can tell you pretty much right now the thing is getting thrown in the trash. After I test it further I will adjust my final score up or down from my initial 3 stars.Update: the sharpener showed no better utility when put to the cheap knives in my shop. The sharpener is in fact broken now because it slipped when I tried to use it on my cutting boards. I can tell you the ceramic is brown and strangely composed. It explodes when it breaks and the shards get into everything. I can't suggest anyone buy this tool for any reason. I regret my purchase.

Works really well
Came in decent packaging , it's a little pricey but it was shipped out from the US so there is that. This is my first Ceramic Honing Steel and I have to say that I'm impressed. The two separate grits help you get back the angle perfectly. I always sharpen my knives on stones about once every month and this will surely make that task less arduous. I recommend this product 👍

Great - Kept my kitchen knives scary sharp
Good length for easy use. I selected the finer grit option. Great for fine honing of my knives.
