I don't have the kind of equipment that is capable of accurately testing the ESD properties of this mat, but I can confirm the following the facts, based on years of experience with all manner of (usually old and dirty and ratty) ESD mats:1. This mat is made of a heavyweight material that has the right balance between stiffness and flexibility.2. The underside (when clean) has a decent amount of natural "stickiness" to it, so it doesn't slide around on a table or desktop.3. The topside has a nice texture that seems to slightly minimize the tendency of fasteners to slide and roll. Whether or not the texture makes it harder to clean remains to be seen. However, I bought a used mat and it looks brand new, so my first impression of its cleanability is favorable.4. Speaking of the topside, the blue color is a really nice shade of blue. Color isn't absolutely necessary for the kind of technical work that is done on a mat like this, but if I had to stare at a shade of blue for hours on end, I would choose this one.5. I LOVE the fact that this particular brand of mats is low-VOC. It doesn't reek of PVC (or whatever other cancer-causing fumes that the others emit).6. Admittedly, the retail price of these mats is a bit high, but my gut tells me that this is one of those cases in which the cost-to-quality balance is still very favorable.As long as this company keeps making this product, I don't think I'd ever buy another (similar) product from another manufacturer. In my experience with workplace and hobbyist equipment, you get what you pay for, and (in most cases) the only thing that cheap equipment gives you is a lifetime supply of suckiness. I have a feeling that this mat is destined to be one of my most cherished possessions.

Lays flat. One snap. One grommet. Nice texture. There is really nothing else to say about it. Enjoyable to work on
