GOREWEAR, Windstopper Base Layer Thermo Turtleneck - Men's

This base layer works for me down to about 45 degrees (F) as long as I have a fleece jersey over it. Don't confuse this base layer iwth the other Gore thiner baselayer. The only difference between them is that this heaver version as a collarand the summer/spring base layer does not have a collar. They both have the front wind blocker material that really makes this baselayer work better than others. Too bad Gore does not make a winter base layer for near freezing temperatures. I still go to Rahpa for a really warm cold weather base layer. The Rapha winter baselayer includes a turtle neck and hand covers with thumb hole. Now I have a complete set of base layers.

It works perfect for spring skiing with a sweater no coat on those 32+ days. bought one size up per another review, and that is correct for wearing a base layer underneath. seems like good quality construction. Very pleased so far.

This blocks wind (from the front only), which is its primary purpose in life so it does as-expected and it does it quite well. It's extremely expensive, so value-wise I'd give it a 3-star rating, but it makes up another star for functioning quite well for its intended purpose. I ordered a size up according to recommendations, and really should have ordered my regular size despite this being a "thin" fit. It's a little blousy in areas, which a base layer should not be. Pay close attention to the washing "instructions" unfortunately it only has indecipherable pictographs, but very particular ones. So check those out and search their meaning online to determine how best to care for it.

I don't know how they design such products but this GORE is a must for riding in variety of temperatures: 60-70F: Well ventilated and moisture wicking. I would wear this under and a light half/full sleeve jersey on top 50-60F: Packs the heat inside even when it's windy. I add a thermal jersey for the lower 50s temperature. After about 15 mins of cycling, the body produces enough heat to be comfortable esp if it's windy. 50-30F: This is the range where this product really shines. Keeps the body heat inside really well. I tend to add a thermal jersey and another wind proof/thermal jacket on top. I don't feel any moisture accumulating even after biking for an hour. The only negative would be the price now at about 100 bucks

This is exactly what I needed for my winter jogs. Excellent wind protection and heat retention. I use it everyday. Well worth the price.

Used as a base layer under my referee shirt for cold weather officiating. Works well. This is not a thick heavily insulated layer, but it does stop the wind. For really cold you need another insulated layer as well.

Not cheap but is a quality item and worth the money.

Ho prodotti estivi di Gore che non mi avevano entusiasmato, avendo secondo me un rapporto qualità/prezzo non conveniente. Ho acquistato la maglia termica a saldo a 60 euro circa. Sono alto 1.78 per 72 kg, 101 cm di torace ed ho preso una L che calza perfettamente. E' bene sempre fare riferimento alle tabelle del sito ufficiale e prendere le misure richieste. Devo dire che è diversa da tutte le altre maglie termiche più economiche che ho avuto. Prima di tutto la lamina windstopper, presente sul frontale, le spalle e la parte esterna delle braccia, conferisce una certa rigidità. Non immaginatevi un'armatura, ma non è una maglia attillata come potrebbe esserlo una completamente elasticizzata. Di fatto, si può indossare tranquillamente senza una seconda maglia sopra. All'interno c'è un secondo tessuto estremamente leggero. La combinazione della lamina e di questo tessuto crea ovviamente quel micro clima che ci si aspetta da una maglia termica. L'ho provata da sola a 12 gradi circa con vento medio forte ed in combinazione con una giacca sempre windstopper a 7 gradi. In entrambi i casi mi sono trovato benissimo e, al di là dei tessuti secondari (che, alla fin fine, sono sempre poliestere) è proprio la lamina windstopper a fare la differenza. Il freddo che viene da una folata di vento sul tessuto bagnato di sudore è solo un ricordo, specialmente sull'addome: il vento non passa e al tempo stesso la maglia è supertraspirante, per cui a fine allenamento non è nemmeno quello straccio inzuppato come normalmente mi capitava con un'altra maglia termica normale. Consiglio questa maglia se il range di temperature a cui correte è sotto i 13/14 gradi (sopra forse potrebbe risultare anche troppo calda), ovviamente in abbinamento con altro al di sotto dei 10 gradi. Non essendo particolarmente elasticizzata ed avendo un fit slim, la sconsiglio invece a chi è un po' robusto di pancia, ma è una questione di gusti personali. Il prezzo ovviamente non è popolare, ma la fattura lascia presagire una durata di parecchi anni.

Probada con un día de nieve, aire y -3º y perfecto, es cierto que por la espalda se nota algo más de fresco, pero es normal, casi es preferible a ir sudado, la talla perfecto 1,82 de altura y 80 Kg la L, la he llevado solo con una chaqueta DE CALIDAD.

Das Teil is richtig bequem, warm und wirklich winddicht. Hochwertige Qualität soweit ich das beurteilen kann und lang genug damit es nicht aus der Hose rutscht. Hatte es jetzt bei 8° und 50kmh Wind allein an und nur meine Endura MT500 Freezing Point II Jacke drüber. Hat ordentlich warm gehalten und war absolut Winddicht. Von daher absolut nix zu meckern. Der Preis is zwar hefitig aber Quali kostet eben. Atmungsaktiv isses so la la. Zur Grösse. Unbedingt ne Nummer grösser kaufen. Ich hab grösse L und hab XL bestellt nachdem ich das hier bei einigen Rezensionen gelesen hab und das war nich verkehrt. Das Teil sitzt so eng das ich bei Grösse L kaum noch Luft bekommen hätte. XL passt dagegen perfekt. Jetz is auch noch Platz zur ein Funktionsshirt drunter. Also Fazit. Bisschen teuer aber kann man sich gut ma gönnen.
