ZEKE, a Military Combat Dog STEALS THE SHOW! Wonderful Story!
Ms. McKenna's Wyoming Series bring stories to warm the heart. Each book is filled with interesting personalities who are struggling to find peace after intense military service has left them suffering with PTSD. Such a difficult condition is handled with great depth and sensitivity. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is the place where activity reigns supreme. And, what a place it is! There's no getting tired or bored with her descriptions of such majestic beauty.High Country Rebel is, so far, my favorite! Rather than go into detail, I'll just say that Talon Holt, a military survivor along with his dog, Zeke are walking a great distance to get home to see his ill mom. Because of all the money he sent to her for her medical treatment, he is virtually penniless. With his heart filled with love for her, there is nothing he wants more than to take care of her. Zeke is a Belgium Malinois combat trained dog who has saved Talon's life on many occasions. Caught in a blizzard, close to home, Talon has no strength to push himself further and collapses, waiting for death. Zeke is always by his side and laying down next to him, with his fur as a blanket, he joins his master and friend.Cat Edwin, a Paramedic and Firefighter is on her way home when she spots something in the road. Pulling over, she rushes out to check and is amazed to find a man, hardly recognizable, frozen half to death. With her formidable strength and tall stature, she is able to bring him to her home.During Talon's recovery, a special relationship is building. Although Cat has her own demons to work through, she revels in the powerful connection between them. All in all, I love everything about this book, but have to say ~ Zeke steals the show! Wow, what an incredible dog!Wolf Haven, Book 9 is a pleasurable read which I am enjoying now. Thanks, Ms. McKenna.

Great read
I have been looking for this book. Read it a couple of years ago itβs a story about a Vet with PTSD and his military dog. The story goes from despair to a happy ending. Itβs worth the read.

Heartwarming and gracious
This story brings to light an issue still prevalent today . There is ample suspense and mystery to keep their reader enthralled . The reason for four stars is that I feel parts of it could have been a bit shorter and the action moving a bit faster. Really good read however.

This was one of my favorite books by Lindsay McKenna
This was one of my favorite books by Lindsay McKenna. I loved how she told the story about the Ex-Seal and his wonderful Combat Dog Zeke. These guys just don't get their stories told because everything they do is Top Secret and they can't talk about what they have seen or did. No wonder so many come back with PTSD. My hats off to you Lindsay for letting us get just a glimpse of their world.

healing love
Good story about Cat, a female firefighter and paramedic. She finds Talon, a ex-Navy seal and his dog stranded in a blizzard. She heals not only his physical wounds but emotional scars as well

Another five star book
This book captures the reader's attention in the first paragraph and holds it throughout the book. The plot moves quickly and easily keeps the reader's attention and interest. The characters were involved with each other and very human. Once again the main characters were military service and firefighters with Todd.

SEAL romance
Normally love this author. Premise was great as was start of book. Then went downhill and I am so disappointed. Talon is at deaths door at 7.30 am, would be in icu if not for blizzard. Within a few hours ok to even try get out of bed, has lunch and then eating heavy meal by 6pm. Really! I was hospitalised with pneumonia (not at deaths door) and I never ate for ages as too ill to eat.(I know I am not a SEAL but this recovery is unimaginable, also temp from 105 to 99 in few short hours?) As terrylynn, amazon.com review, loads repetition, discrepancies. Wonder why he was even going to Bar H as his mother didn't live there.

High Country Rebel
BRR! I'm glad I do not live in the high, cold mountains described in this book. There is quite a bit going on about PTSD, but I could not put the book down - had to finish it in one night. Talon and dog Zeke have to learn to trust as does Cat Edwin; I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will be on the lookout for more of this series.
