Good...if thinking about it
This is a good -overview- if -considering- the business. If you've already started your processes then this likely wouldn't add much. This would not be for those already (and firmly) established.

A book that proves that any business means just that--business
It’s best to start off by saying that Jack Freeman did write an entire book with equal parts substantial, detailed, and useful information on what it means to start and run your own home inspection business with success and continuous growth. However, the real brilliance he displays is his immediate aim shown in the very beginning of this book: to first ground readers in reality by somewhat challenging them before reading onward--albeit not in a belittling or otherwise offensive manner—to see if even a career of a home inspector is the right path for them, let alone even having ideas for their own home inspection business venture. The most crucial factors Freeman uses to challenge readers are: if they truly have enough common sense and work ethic, both of which are essential for this occupation that is mostly learned on the job under the guidance of a seasoned home inspector; if they have a keen eye for noticing even the smallest of both the interior and exterior flaws of a home in addition to the know-how and desire to properly repair these flaws; if they have the patience and other resources in putting themselves through actual required home inspection and business education, and finally if they have what it takes overall to not merely survive but also thrive in this line of work by listing the pros and cons in good detail, and also specifying other required work and personality traits that will surely keep the home inspection industry flourishing and keep customers using a certain business again and again for all their home inspection needs. There is a definite lack of detail, grounding, and wealth of useful information from most of today’s how-to books. However, readers don’t have to worry about missing out on any of these essential components, especially because Freeman gives very detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to get this business going and to keep it intact, from graphic design skills to money-saving skills and much more. However, there is only one minor factor that may appear too obvious to any reader: Some of the business skill requirements Freeman explains don’t apply to just home inspection—they can also be useful for starting any type of business, as almost everyone knows already.Another way he keeps the readers in their own realities is by listing very specific business and home inspection requirements for every state in the country (Washington DC included), to see if they have the patience, resources, and whatever it takes to complete each and every listed requirement for whatever state they reside in.

This is a must read for the future home inspector.
“How to Start, Run, and Grow a Home Inspection Business” by author Jack Freeman, is an extremely informative guide to the world of home inspections. The book is a true ‘soup to nuts’ work, detailing every aspect of this business that you would need to know before actually diving into owning your own inspection operation. It even lists all licensing requirements for every state in the U.S. and Washington D.C.Home inspection is a thriving industry because of new home construction growth and sales of existing houses. It is also quite highly regulated. This book can help you avoid the many pitfalls associated with starting this type of business, saving you time and money when you begin.I loved how Mr. Freeman outlined important topics, such as being punctual in your work, being helpful to your customers, being openminded, trustworthy, detail-oriented, a good communicator, and being teachable, to just name some. I do suggest that you read the entire book, not just these big points. There will surely be ideas and situations that you have not even thought of, discussed in the book. The author also guides the reader through just what is inspected, where to receive training, whether you should open a franchise or your own business. He explains many pitfalls and risks in owning your own, and what is necessary to succeed, including expenses, equipment, financing, and insurance. This book really is a must-read for the person considering starting a home inspection business. I highly recommend it, if you are that person.

Great book for beginners
This book is a great start on your journey into the world of home inspection. No matter if your wanting to start your own business, or just want to enter the profession this book is worth every penny. This was my first book on the topic and helped me understand what I am getting into; it also no only confirmed that this is what I want to do, but also was a HUGE help in understanding the other books I have bought since. It is well written and easy to understand/follow in this industry. I highly recommend this book BEFORE spending on other books that can cost hundred of dollars. Once you read this book, you will know if you really want to go any further.
