Metal ones are sturdy and the Batman logo makes no difference
I was worried about getting the metal or wooden deck option, as a bigger guy at 6'2" and 225. The metal ones are great, one day into use. I took to them pretty well for a day 1 and using the JMK Ride tutorials videos. The bearings were also just fine, as a person who's learning to use them still. They were used on a very small sloping parking lot and caught speed well from my first push off.I normally wouldn't write a review so soon but I wanted to comment on the Batman logo thing. It wasn't clear where the logo is on the product from the other reviews but it's on the metal circle that comes through the grip tape and it might as well not be there, for all the difference it makes. The logo is under your foot during use and isnt visible at from a distance. You're going to get looks and comments about this weird form of skate you're using and are probably doing poorly. No one is going to be eagle eyed enough to catch some logo that's hard to see as is and will be under your foot during use. (See the visibility of it up close and a couple feet away in my pictures)Buy these to learn and see if you're interested enough to dive in on some JMK Ride freeskates later.

Fun gimmicky board
These are an interesting piece of equipment. They ride a bit like a broken ripstick, and they're a bit weird to get a hang of, but they're a lot of fun. Also they come with a edge projector so you don't splinter your board when you inevitably kick one into a wall.

Okay Skates
These were definitely harder to learn than I thought but it didn't help that the wheels aren't round. They are hard to turn and maneuver but the overall sturdiness is good. I would recommend for people who just want to learn and ride for fun.

Decent for the price point
Edited. I was upset at first because these aren’t marked left or right. But I figured out that direction the wheels slant outward corresponds to the foot they go on and I labeled mine accordingly. I think I was also upset because they are hard to use. I knew there’d be a learning curve but these are really difficult. I’m starting to get the hang of it now though. I do think these are good for a beginner pair. The deck is sold maple. The trucks are the right style (not the S curve). And it comes with an edge guard all for a very good price. I’m not sure the wheels are rounded enough and I may swap them out with JMKride wheels at some point (another $40 plus shipping - more than these skates), but I feel like these are good value for the money. If I had given up on this (and I almost did), at least I’d only be out $35. In terms of being able to ride a short distance without falling on my face, I found pushing off from a pole in our concrete basement helped because I could gather speed (which you need to properly ride). I watched some videos where people recommended starting on a slight hill, but that didn’t work for me.

Great fun for my 9-year-old girl!
My 9-year-old daughter got these for her birthday and learned how to ride them in 2 days.I think it's unfair to give the product bad reviews just because you can't figure out how to ride them. It's a great product!

Not for me
Very hard to do. Not much fun even when trying to learn. My son 11 and I both could never get it

Must have Balance
Great for a week and then my son lost interest!

Interesting type of Skate that is a lot of fun
My boys each have a pair and love them. They are both fairly athletic and agile. It took them about half a day to get decent and now, a few months later, they seem to use them as easy as a bike.

Alignment
The product was good but the one side wheel alignment is not correct. The one side wheel have to be little bend

Dodgy but work
Came with only 2 mishapen wheels and was strangly dusty. You get what you pay for. Other than that, they seen functional just lean to one side a bit.
