The Land Remembers: The Story of a Farm and Its People

I am a bit of a proselytizer about this book. I am not sure how many copies I have bought for family and friends and neighbors. Reading it now to my 7 & 9 year olds - telling them how much their Great-Grandfather loved this book and loved meeting Ben Logan. It's like a window into the experiences of my ancestors.

THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER, HAVE A HARD TIME PUTTING IT DOWN!! My husband and I were fortunate enough to meet Ben at his farm=SELDOM SEEN, and he autographed books for us. THEY ARE TREASURED!I was so happy to find it on Amazon where we can read it online. I hope someday to find it in large print!

Beautifully written, insightful memoir. I grew up in a place very different from the one Ben Logan describes, but he tells his stories in such a way that I could visualize, relate to, care about, and learn from his experiences. Great writer, great book.

Well written. I read a chapter a night to my children and everyone has enjoyed the tales of his boyhood on a farm. It is clear he had a lot of respect for his father, which seems rare these days. There are frequent curse words scattered among the characters' conversations, but they are easy to catch while reading to children.

A trip back in time revisiting the wonder of childhood in a less cluttered and contentious time. I wanted just to stay awhile. This a book that I will return too when I need a reset.

I had this book from the library and enjoyed it so much I bought a copy to give as a gift.

Wonderful story!

I bought this book for my grandmother, who grew up on a farm in rural Western Wisconsin. She said she really enjoyed the story because it reminded her of her childhood.
