Saddle Up & Ride!
I’ve now had a little over a month to ride w/the WTB Volt Narrow Steel Black Saddle (W065-0584). I decided to upgrade my 12 year old stock Bontrager saddle. I decided to go w/the steel because of price & have never purchased or ride w/any WTB saddle. I went to the WTB website & used there tool to enter my physical information to determine which size saddle best fit me.My first impression when I received the saddle was that it looked great & well made. The all black microfiber cover looks sharp, especially w/the subtle imposed logo. There were no issues w/stitching or construction. While riding, I immediately noticed I was more stable in the saddle, especially when putting down power. When I hit the steeper hills & really started power spinning up it, I was much more comfortable in the Volt than I was in my old saddle. So far I have not had any issues w/a sore butt or any discomfort due to the saddle. I’ve ridden on rides as long as 2+ hours, on double, single & downhill.Overall I’m very happy w/the WTB Volt. As long as it holds up, I’d have no issues w/spending more on one of the more expensive saddles made w/the lighter rails (cromoly or titanium, prob not carbon for $200+).Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful.

Narrow fit great
upgrade from Entity Assault (from Polygon)rides from 12-20 milesheat up to 114°NO need for padded shorts.this is worth every penny!i have 100mm sit bones, got the Narrow.best upgrade to my hardtail yet. no regrets.*update: I bumped this review up to 5 stars, which is RARE and only given when a product exceeds my expectations!Rode 40 miles in 100 degrees on flowy trails near Scottsdale. About 27 miles in, I felt my right sit bone get somewhat irritated, to the point of being a nuisance- again, no padded shorts. Consider that I was on the bike for nearly 4 hrs at this point, before discomfort set in...so I stopped for the 1st official break of the day, spent 30 minutes relaxing after taking a couple vitamin I's and sitting on a concrete bench, got back on the bike and noticed the irritation on my sit bone had gone away. I continued to ride for another 13 miles, and felt barely some tenderness but it went away after several hours. No pain or soreness the next day (my quads tell a different story). I will say that if I rode a hardtail mountain bike for 40 miles and 7 hours, and that's the worst that happened, the seat is amazing and I would definitely recommend. i've been so happy with this purchase, i got a Volt titanium for my new IZZO pro on the way. good job, WTB!*amazon will not let me review the titanium version independently, so i will just add a couple notes, here:the narrow titanium volt is more race-friendly, padding is different type and not as plush. however, it remains comfortable since the base of the saddle has a little flex to it. very light. prolly not going to be as comfy as the chromoly rail version for long rides, but the goal was to remain light as possible on this new carbon bike. hopefully, in theory, i will not be on the saddle as much for this bike, def geared towards more aggressive riding and not as "XC" as the hardtail.i'm really happy with both saddles. compared to the Ergon SM, it's a star "better".

2020 vs. 2019
2020 vs. 2019. I own a WTB Volt 150 at every price point/model from 2019 besides the carbon rail model. I found the Titanium rail model with the DNA padding is FAR superior in comfort to all other Volt models. The lesser models have a firmer pad and is quite a bit less comfortable. After unboxing the 2020 I instantly felt the 2020 model with my hand and noticed it was much more similar to the less comfortable, harder padding and cover (sub Titanium) Volt models of 2019. :( If I could I would gladly exchange my 2020 for a 2019 model. I also noticed the 2020 model to be 4 grams heavier. I'm leaning towards sending the 2020 back. No sense in paying over $100 for a saddle to be unhappy with it. I hope this helps, and if anyone knows, please let me know why WTB made these changes.

Comfortable, sleek and affordable
Pleasantly surprised I put this on my Trek Roscoe 8. A five minute install. Seat looks sleek yet much better than stock. I would definitely recommend I’m 5’9” and 174lbs the medium is perfect.

Over hyped
Was not a fan. But went numb after 1.5 hours. The nose kept digging into my man bits and it was harder to move around on the saddle. Bad for me, good for whoever wants a seat that will lock them in. Construction seems subpar, only a couple staples holding the material covering the seat on. I returned the WTB volt and got a SDG Radar saddle and I couldn't be more happy. Tenfold better construction and comfort.

Comfortable but rail bent
Very comfortable saddle but rail bent after using on a couple of trail rides.Update: contacted WTB who promptly emailed me back and advised they would provide a replacement. I’ll give an updated review once I receive the replacement.

Relatively comfortable
I guess that the Volt is sort of a modernized replacement for the Rocket V, which has been my favorite for years.I'm using the narrowest Volt on a track stand bicycle, for riding Zwift. It's more narrow than the WTB web site tool recommended. It is a little different from the Rocket -- thinner, with more modern styling. The Volt with metal rails is a good value, since at this writing the lighter rail options have marginal reductions in weight.Comfort depends a great deal on how your hip bones are shaped and how long you'll be in the saddle. All I can suggest is what I did: buy the cheap one and try it out. If you think you might be sending it back, put one wrap of plastic tape around where you'll attach it to the clamp, and cover the seat temporarily with a plastic bag. That should preserve its like-new condition.I still have an older, relatively heavy Rocket V on the bike I ride outdoors. It's probably more comfortable on longer rides.
