Beautiful Grain Enhancement โ True Natural Finish for Solid Wood Projects
I used this on custom-built log end tables and cutting tables made from oak, Kentucky coffee tree, and cherry. I was looking for a true 100% pure tung oil without added chemicals, and this delivered exactly that. I applied two coats with a foam brush, which allowed the oil to penetrate evenly into all the wood. It slightly darkened the wood, but in a way that enhanced the natural character and brought the grain beautifully to life โ especially in the oak and cherry. The finish is low-sheen and hand-rubbed, never glossy or plastic-looking. Because this is pure tung oil, itโs slow-drying, which is normal. I didnโt time the full cure, but it behaved exactly as true tung oil should โ natural, buildable, and durable. On cutting surfaces, it feels smooth and well-protected while remaining food-safe. No strong chemical odor during application, and wiping off excess with a clean cloth made the process easy. Iโm very pleased with the final result. If you want a natural, non-synthetic finish that highlights woodโs true character, this is an excellent choice and value for the price.

Really good product!
Little to no odor. Sealed wood nicely not too dark. Really liked the outcome.

Walrus makes great products
I like Tung oil on furniture that I build. It brings out the warm depth of natural wood like this cherry coffee/puzzle table that I'm building. Easy to use. I trust Walrus 100% Tung Oil. Just be aware that if you haven't used 100% tung oil as a finish before, it takes a long time in comparison to other finishes to apply. I prefer thin coats and to let them polymerize/cure for several days between applications. I also like to cure the coats outside on dry, sunny days. This oil will not yellow with age. If applied and cured properly, provides great protection with low lustre for a long time, and can be touched up with more tung oil when you want. I really like it for heirloom furniture pieces that I make and can be used on pieces that reside indoors or outside.

Great for chemically sensitive folks
I am chemically sensitive and was looking for a safe sealant for a new concrete birdbath. I read good things about pure tung oil on the website mychemicalfreehouse.net. I gave my birdbath 6 coats of this tung oil within two days. It needs to cure for about 30 days so it's been in my house for the past 3 or 4 weeks. I'm not reacting to it at all. I am also going to use this tung oil on some bare metal which will be used outdoors. I'm very happy with this product.

Mixed feelings and an interesting warning label
Definitely a thick oil. Used this on some walnut utensils I made and are on the fence about durability, especially long term.. My first use of it made my spoon look fabulous... Now bare in mind, I didn't use a lot.. basically a thin coat made the it shine beautifully. I let it dry for a few days where following the first use, and washing it by hand, seemed that the finish degraded / streaked. (See photo) Accepting it may be user error, I sanded it down, but the oil def had seeped in, (see the tip of the fork), and left a kind of residue. So hoping it would equal out, I soaked the spoons, along with some new utensils I made in the oil for more than a full day, then wiped them down and let them dry for about a week.. In majority, having used them all a few times since, they've only dulled a tad, but for me (and my wife), its noticeable and we both wonder why. That said, I'm unclear what the true expectation really should be, however, compared to my low end store-bought wood utensils I've done nothing too but put them through the wringer, they haven't much changed, (aside of wear and tear), as well I believe those are made of teak, verses mine in walnut. The other thing that raises an eye brow is that the label says, "May spontaneously combust". Guess only time will tell if my utensils combust in the future, (hopefully they do not), as well, I keep the bottle in a cool and shady place. But, for a product intended to make things food safe.. It seems a sense of an oxymoron exists per what exactly should be considered "safe". With that, I think 4 stars is generous.

Good stuff but spendy
I love me some Tung Oil. I use it to condition and restore wooden tool handles. I use it on My wood handled hammers, garden rakes and shovels and my wheelbarrow handles. I sand with 200 then 400 grit. Apply oil, let cure wipe any access and apply a second and often a third coat. It makes for a smooth, hard, weatherproof finish and feels good in your hand. The hammer in the picture was sanded to raw wood, and two coats of oil applied over non-stained wood and it gave a 50 year hammer a great look and years more of use. Some reviewers comment they were confused about the size as the bottle bears the same shape as common gallon bottles , but the bottle in the ad picture is clearly labeled 32 fluid ounces and it is clearly described as 32 ounces in the description. Do your due diligence. The stuff is just expensive and may make you think you are getting a gallon. This is a quality product. I will buy more when I need more. Boiled linseed oil is cheaper and I use that for indoor projects where weather proofing is not an issue, BUT for outdoor projects , you want Tung oil and this brand seem like quality to me.

Beautiful finish
This oil is a dream for refinishing wood. Itโs food safe and leave the wood with a very rich and perfect to touch finish. It is easy to apply does not have an offensive smell, although it does take a great deal of time to dry and cure, but worth the wait. Because it is safe and a beautiful and strong finish it checks all of my boxes for functionality.
