How much retinol? Unique packaging, smooths in easily
I am in my late 40's with dry, sensitive skin. I also work as a swim coach and instructor which adds additional irritation to my skin. I use retinol nightly and currently prefer Roth Retinol fusion pm which is supposed to have 1.5% retinol. This comes in a strange container. There is a pump which dispenses a small amount at a time -- it takes about two pumps to do my face and another two to do my neck. The body is not a bottle but a soft squeeze type tube. It will be interesting to see how much is left in the tube when it runs out. The packaging is solid and should protect from light damage but I do keep it in my medicine cabinet to be certain. The bottle is labeled as containing bakuchiol (such a hot ingredient right now!) retinol and peptides. The lotion is a white gel which smooths into my skin easily without any rubbing or pulling and initially feels moisturizing, however that quickly disappears and I still need an extra moisturizer. The Roth is in an oil base so feels much more moisturizing and beneficial to my skin. There is no added fragrance, which I appreciate, so there is a slightly off chemical smell but it dissipates quickly. I question the level of retinol -- the roth is 1.5% but this doesn't disclose the level. I have experienced no redness, peeling, or other sensitivities so I would say it is lower than the Roth.Since I am not certain about the effectiveness I have started using this on the back of my hands in the evening, layered under a hand lotion and it is quite nice.Labeled cruelty free and free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates and artificial fragrances.

Inexpensive retinol cream that is very nice!
This is a very nice inexpensive Retinol Serum. Just a reminder, if you use a retinol serum make sure to use sun protection when you use retinol serum because it makes you more sensitive to sun! This retinol serum is actually pretty nice especially if you consider the inexpensive price. It comes in a very cute little tube that looks like a squeeze tube but actually has a little pump dispenser. You don't need a lot of this when you use it. It has a very pleasant and mild scent which I really like, very important to me for some reason. The serum is very light weight and feels almost like a cream. It absorbs very quickly into your skin and doesn't leave any residue behind either. So this one really wins all around in my book. My skin felt great and look good. So all in all I really liked this one and so did my skin. I for one can only recommend this one especially for the price!

Decent moisturizer
I have used retinol creams in the past and you can see results within a couple of days. This, as it uses a retinol alternative, it will take much much longer to see result. Perhaps weeks. So far, after one week, I feel it is a good moisturizer that is super light-weight, easy to apply (feels very slick when applying, almost like a water gel) and absorbs immediately when dried. It is non-greasy and very comfortable to use. It is unscented and did not irritate my very sensitive, dry, eczema prone skin (I often break out in hives when there are heavy fragrance or chemicals).Based on my research, this product should not cause your skin to be light-sensitive, and it is much more gentle on the skin than retinol. Since I have very sensitive skin, it's exciting for me to give this product a shot, although I understand it'll take much longer to see any anti-aging results. I also like that I can use it as a base and put other products over me, such as vitamin C and hyaluronic acid (although the vitamin C will make your skin light sensitive). By default, I would always use a sunscreen whenever I go out during the day regardless of whether or not I have used a light-sensitive product, so that's what I'd recommend you do in all situations as well. It's just safer for your skin.Overall, even though I know it'll take many more weeks to see anti-aging results, it feels good on my skin. I can see myself using this every evening or every other evening after I clean my face.

Happy with results, very gentle
Very gentle form of plant based retinol that's made to use daily. Unlike some other retinol products this doesn't cause irritation but still works for me. I'm in my 60's and really focused on decreasing the wrinkles appearing on my cheeks when I smile that are still evident after the smile is over and I'm happy with my results so far. I use this along with a quartz roller so the product absorbs into my face and not my fingertips (my friend whose a stylist recommends applying skincare products this way).

More gentle on skin than retinol
Didn't know that the maker of the little mask packets I see in the store also had a line of skin care products, so I was intrigued to see what they offered. This retinol-alternative serum isn't bad. I like that it's in a serum rather than lotion form as I feel it absorbs better and doesn't feel as heavy on my skin. It says to use in the morning and at night, which is odd since retinol makes skin more sensitive to the sun and sunlight can cause retinol to break down. But then I realized that this is a retinol alternative, and bakuchiol isn't affected by sunlight like regular retinol is. And it's not as skin sensitizing as regular retinol. It seems to be enough like actual retinol to help shrink upcoming pimples, though. Only time will tell if it acts like actual retinol when it comes to treating and fighting off wrinkles. I really hope it does because I like this more skin friendly version.

Careful if you have sensitive skin
I had to stop using this face cream after a week, it dried my face out and then caused me to start having breakouts. My face isn't normally sensitive but it was to this. It was very wet like when I put it on, would take several minutes to dry and in that time it was very sticky. When it finally was completely dry my face wouldn't be sticky then, but waiting several minutes to dry is kinda a while. It may work if you have really oily skin since it dries your skin out so much but I don't recommend it.
