Rapid EdgeExtend-A-Blade Utility Knife, Folding Razor Knife with 3 Blade Positions, Includes 5 Double-Length Straight-Edge Utility Knife Blades

I needed a utility knife with an extra long flexible blade for cutting silicon sealer when removing a broken double pane window. I was able to get the job done due to Rapid Edge Extend-A-Blade's additional reach. The blade holder folds down into the handle for safe transport and storage like other folding utility knives and is constructed well with an ergonomic aluminum handle and a brushed steel blade holder. Changing blades is quick, with the push of a button to release the blade from the holder. The blade can be extended from a normal working position to two additional extended working positions by holding the same button down while pulling the blade out to two additional stops. The knife has a sturdy steel pocket clip and overall quality construction. It operates perfectly. I thought $12 was bit much for a utility knife when ordering but due to the quality materials and unique extendable blade feature, I now think the knife is a good value.

I needed a longer blade to cut a bunch of hard foam insulation panels and this worked great. I took it slow and made 3 cuts deeper and deeper each time. I knew to change blades when bits of foam started flying. This is exactly what you need. I also bought extra blades and used them up. You cannot have too many blades

Needed a knife to cut 2" polystyrene foil-faced insulation for a roofover with metal roof panels, (Florida - metal pan roofing). 12" - 8 foot lengths out of a 4 x 8 sheet. The blades changed so easy, the knife was strong and rigid, safe, and easy to use. I've used many utility knives this is the best I've used.(ps.- of course there was residue from the insulation, but nothing crazy, and the shop vac cleaned it up easy. I did three cut runs on each piece).

A very good Utility Knife to have around the house / shop. Works great on cardboard boxes. the extra length is helpful many times is helpful many times.

Even more than the longer cutting blade, I liked the hefty handle. This is not your average box cutter. It worked great for cutting solid core insulation providing a clean cut with minimal mess.

Knife works for my purpose because I needed an extra long blade. Only thing for me that would improve the unit is if it would have an integral storage area for spare blades. Not a show-stopper but would be very nice.

Bought this to cut insulation foam for precise cuts. The long blade really helps a lot for cutting 1" thick foam board. The grip is little small for my liking.

when the standard box utility knife won't work; the extra length of this tool, comes in handy.
