G8 LED Bulb 3W, WB25X10019 Halogen Bulb 20W Replacement for GE Microwave Oven Light, T4 JCD Type G8 Bi-Pin Base, 120 Volt, Daylight White 6000K, 2-Pack

These LED lights are bright white whereas the factor halogen lights that came with the GE Microwave are more of a yellow light. The LED lights fit perfectly and provide a much brighter light. A bonus is that these LED lights use less energy and do not create heat like the old halogen bulbs. Great replacement but understand the color of the lights will be a bright white.

Purchased these to replace the stovetop illumination lamp in our overmount microwave. Works a treat. Even light distribution and good color temp.

Replaced original 50W halogen G8 bulb with this LED type. Bulb is slighter longer, but fits fine with this socket and when installed. (there are 70W equivalent G8 LED replacements out there, but with flat bases that may not fit the recessed bulb socket) Measured the brightness of original halogen bulb as 123 lux as on oven when selected on hi and 50 lux when low selected. This LED bulb measured 257 lux hi and 133 on low. So the new bulb measures 2x brighter than original. Eye perception is brighter but not 2x, as expected. The 4000K color temp is slightly bluer than I like, but that's on me. I'd order the warmer 3000K version for a color perception closer to the original halogen (though probably slightly less bright).

Amazing modern $500 microwaves still come with horrible yellow lights. My whole house is led day time 5000k lights. With this light now my under microwave looks great couldn’t wait to install these and get rid of the yellow light my brand new microwave came with

Most overhead microwaves use halogen bulbs to brighten up the stove area, so you can see better on while you are cooking. The drawback for halogen bulbs can get hot easily and certainly shorten its lifespan. LED bulbs are available now. Not only that they have the same brightness as the halogen bulbs but also they don’t get hot as the halogen bulbs. In addition, LED bulbs can last much longer so it is a better option.

Fortunately they took back the 6000k bulbs I originally purchased, and replaced with the 4000k bulbs. To my eye, the 6000k bulbs were too blue. These are just right, and are much brighter than the original halogen bulbs. Which is a really good thing. I always found the original bulbs to be less useful for actual cooking - too dim - and have been waiting for the LED version to come out. Well it has, and these are great. Pop right in, even though they are slightly larger than the original bulbs. Did I mention brighter? If you only use these as a night light, and don't care about seeing to cook, then maybe save a few bucks. Otherwise these are a real upgrade for only a few dollars more.

UPDATE- The seller contacted me and provided a full refund, so that is great. Hopefully the 1st bulb was a one off, but based on the physical condition of it, I doubt that is the case, but who knows. Regardless if the seller stands by their product and offers a refund, then there isn't much to complain about. Upgrading my review to 4-stars for the seller responding to the issue.-----------The traditional light I had in before lasted over a decade. This new LED bulb lasted LESS THAN 4 MONTHS! Taking it out, it looks melted inside and with internals shattered from the heat I guess. What trash, should have stuck with an original bulb.Additionally while I got warm white, it was much more neutral white than a regular bulb. This is a preference, but you're not getting that wonderful natural warm glow. Also the LED is brighter at the lowest setting than a traditional bulb, which I don't like. The bulb is also a little brighter than a traditional bulb on the high setting, which is literally the only positive that can be said about this bulb.

A must for this microwave. The original bulb gets way to hot!! These create NO heat. Nice and bright!

I replaced a couple of G8 incandescent bulbs in a Samsung Over-the-Counter microwave oven's stovetop lighting system. The bulbs are not inside the oven, but beneath it, and shine downwards onto the stovetop. They fit perfectly, are much brighter than the 20W incandescents and generate no noticeable heat. The brightness is perfect for me for this application.

Finally i put a hand on such a fine LED bulb. It is exactly as described, fits perfectly my LG under-counter microwave model # LMV2053ST. Good LED quality, it came in a pack of two 2” bulbs, daylight color, bright enough for the cooking area and it saves a lot of money replacing the Halogen extremely hot bulb. Couldn’t be better than that.

Bought these to replace the bulb in my LG microwave with range hood. These LED bulbs are brighter than the 50 W halogen bulbs that came with it, and use less power. More importantly, they are daylight, as opposed to the ugly yellow light that comes standard. I’m really glad I found these because none of the hardware stores around me have G8, daylight bulbs! My only complaint is that my microwave has a high/low light setting, but these bulbs don’t really dim noticeably.

Fits in LG over the range microwave and cheaper than big box store. Nicer light color and runs much cooler than G8 halogen that comes with microwave.
