Excellent two step corkscrew. Good materials and construction combined with a clean design. The cheap plastic insert in the handle takes a little away from the look and feel of quality. One flaw worth noting, the bottle neck catches are extra long and can scrape the side of the cork on some bottles. If you want a two step corkscrew that's an upgrade from the standard Pulltaps, this is a good option.

After carefully reading reviews for multiple waiter's wine keys, I decided to go with this one. Unfortunately, I regret my decision. Since I use my wine key to make a living, I need it to work as expected, but so far I have managed to actually break the neck of two wine bottles- because it seems if you screw in the corkscrew far enough to pull out the while cork, the lip of the wine key inhibits the cork to be pulled out cleanly, causing the device to literally tear a chunk of the neck of the bottle out. The first time this happened was while serving a guest- needless to say creating an unwanted spectacle, and i needed to discard the wine bottle and its contents. So trying to avoid this from happening a third time, I was reluctant to screw the corkscrew in as far, but of course- as any professional would guess- I pulled out most of the cork, leaving a small portion stuck in the neck. Another odd feature is that the foil cutting knife, once pulled out and pressure applied by using it properly, the knife's locked position gives way and the knife clicks further open. A cheap pulltap corkscrew is far more reliable.

Looking for a well built, easy to use two step cork screw. This is compact, nice stainless appearance and works vey well. Corks are extracted with ease and never broken. Works very well and very functional.

I did not buy this opener from Amazon or this seller, I actually just found it while looking for it for a friend.This is identical to one I have owned for almost five years now. It was given to me as a gift from a manager I had while I was waiting tables. I used this for two years professionally and have used it for three since. You can use it to open beer/soda bottles without opening it. It has a hinge for two angles to pull from. This is important because a single-pull stopper creates extra torque and can pull wine with it creating a spill. The hinge is better than two pieces because you don't have to pause and move the shorter piece out of the way. The metal of the screw is extremely strong and has never bent, even on some of the most annoying bottles which wreck lesser openers. The blade holds up well and is slightly serrated.I can't express enough how much I love this opener. The price is totally worth it because you will NEVER need another opener again. I plan on buying this as a holiday gift for a friend of mine. I have tried dozens of openers. Butterfly openers lack a foil cutter and are bulky to transport or carry. There are great high tech models that need to be plugged in or mounted to a counter. Most cheap waiter's openers are so bad they inspire people to spend a ton on these gadgets. This opener is all you need as a server or person who doesn't want to keep clutter or gadgets that are likely to break.
