An excellent replacement for the OEM ignition coils in a stock Mustang GT
UPDATED Sept 22, 2020, after putting 700 miles on my car. SOHC 4.6L engine efficiency has remained improved by 3-5%! An incredible deal. I remain skeptical that these coils can stand track speed use though as they aren't as beefy as the OEM Ford coils—if I do get this car to the track, I'll keep an eye on performance and update this review (don't hold your breath on that though…this isn't a manual tranny GT so not really a track car). At first, my buddy and I were skeptical that this would really be a good replacement for the failing original ignition coils in a stock 2002 Mustang GT. Immediately, these new ENA coils improved the engine efficiency by an estimated 3-5% from the old, 18 year old coils. See rest of review for my thoughts and specific experiences with this replacement. Why the replacement? Old coil on the #1 cylinder started throwing a P0301 fault (and also a pending P0316 code) back in May 2020. Besides the #1 coil being an obvious issue, hecking other old coils I noted several with torn boots, one besides the #1 with obvious moisture on the boot—the #1 coil was the worst though by far, the only one throwing an engine fault code and there was a lot of water build up in the well from its failed boot. This Mustang had new plugs put in last year so I also checked the #1 plug and it tested fine and was gapped properly, etc. Decided to try out a full set of these ENA coils as it was cheaper to get 8 new ENA coils than getting one OEM ignition coil to just replace the #1, at least two other coils had torn or failing boots, etc so this was a really low risk purchase decision since I figured I could just swap boots if the new coils themselves were not great. The ENA coils are slightly less bulky than the OEMs and were relatively easy to install. At first I only did the driver side, the easy side on the Mustang… where I had temporarily moved the failing #1 coil to the #2 cyclinder while I waited for these new coils to arrive. As soon as they did arrive, I immediately replaced the driver side coils (#2, 4, 6, 8) with these new coils. That improved things a little on the engine and got rid of it throwing a service light when under serious engine load (heavy acceleration with high RPM); definitely that #1 coil had been out of spec (and that was verified by using a multimeter on that old coil's resistant circuit as well). Replacing the passenger side ignition coils completely the following week saw a much greater improvement… Now the Mustang's RPMs at load are 3-5% lower to achieve the same amount of power/ maintain cruising speed with the cruise control on, etc than they were before! When coming to an idle when a lot of the electrical load on the system zeros into the correct resting engine idle speed at rest much quicker than before. Also, the exhaust has much less water condensing on the rear tail pipes, etc, etc. After I had finished work on the passenger side and was trying the engine out for the first time, a neighbor walked by and said the GT sounded like a kitten… a true improvement! So, WOW, so glad I decided to replace all the coils and not just the one that was testing out of spec! I'm really appreciating how smooth the engine and transmission now work together. Based on the raw RPM efficiency number improvements, I'm expecting at least a 1MPG improvement over the old failing coils with the car in the 40-70 mph range. Acceleration is smoother than ever. Not a single bad thing to say about these coils so far. Well, okay, maybe one thing… The spring contact for the plugs are slightly shorter than the older coils. This might be due to sag on the old coils over time. That and the lightly less beefy boot and coil body are the main differences from the stock coils. I got the black ones but if you want to jazz up your engine block, maybe get the color ones that cost a few dollars more? The black ones look closer to the OEM versions so I went with those because I'm trying to keep this vehicle as close to stock as possible. Anyways, now to that one thing that is really is bothering me since the swap… Now that the ignition coils are making the engine work so smoothly, I can sense that one or more of my stock injectors is probably gunky… it's a never ending story with these cars; thank heavens there's deals like these ENA coils! (And I highly doubt that trying to clean or replace the injectors give me a 3-5% improvement efficiency so it's sort of something I might work on if I have to do deeper work on the engine in future, not immediately).

Despite reviews these have worked great
I got these since I was going to have it apart for a broken manifold swap anyway. The price was GREAT and I figured I could not go wrong. After I ordered I saw some installation videos and they said to stay away from these connector problems and coil fails right out of the box. I got worried and read some other reviews that said the same thing. Once I got into the project I went back and forth on reusing the old coils and just using the boots to avoid the coil issues reported. Ultimately I decided to go for it. Great Choice!. The install was easy. Used the dielectric grease as recommended, made sure they seated properly and torqued as recommended. It has been a month and a half and the truck runs better that ever. Perhaps time will tell but for now, plenty happy. The only reason these were not 5 stars was that as noted the molding flash on the plug connectors was pretty bad. The plugs are snug so in some cases they would not snap in place. Easy solution though. A quick sanding pass on a flat surface with some 600 grit sandpaper on the plug face knocked the flash off easily. After that little prep work the install went fine. 5 Stars if they clean up their connector mold!

nice product
I’m currently using just one of them; there are no issues. It’s good—the quality isn't bad at all. I recommend it; go ahead and try it out. You won't know until you do—get one in your hands and take a look. Good luck.

Impressive Quality at an Impressive Price
Perfect fit in my 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis with Ford's 4.6l 2-valve V8 "Mod Motor." I was absolutely skeptical, but couldn't pass up the chance at a deal this good. The coils come well packaged, and as described do include a large amount of dialectric grease. Do NOT skip using the grease, or a comparable product you prefer, it is and essential step to doing the job right. The coils themselves are well made, potted cleanly, and assembled well. They all tested perfectly on my bench before being installed. I highly advise that others do the same, much less unpleasant to find a bad one *before* install rather than after. In my case, all 8 tested perfectly, and work perfectly now that they're installed. I'd compare them to virtually any aftermarket coil you'll find down at the Old Zone, Green Clone Zone, Not All Pleasantries Apply, Advanced Clone Zone, any of the parts stores you're likely to find in the US. I'd note the molds may have been changed or otherwise replaced, I see reviews noting poor quality of the rubber castings, even pictures with visible flashing. Mine did not have this problem at all, the boots on the ones I received were very well made, very consistent, looked as good as any Delphi boot I've seen. Try 'em, it's hard to be disappointed when the price is right for a product that works! 7/19/2025: It's been just over 5 years/~62,000 miles and these coils are still going strong in my Marquis!

Great product, amazing price.
I had a coil pack go on my f250, installed these and a set of plugs. Truck has been running great. I installed them 6 months ago and there has been no degradation in performance. They look identical to OEM coil packs for a fraction of the price.
